American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States located in the South Pacific Ocean, southeast of the island country of Samoa. Therefore this article has listed some of the top 10 famous American Samoa. They include the following;

1. Tulsi Gabbard

 Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician, US Army Reserve officer, and political pundit. She was a representative for Hawaii’s 2nd congressional district from 2013 to 2021. Gabbard was also both the first voting Samoan-American and the first Hindu member of Congress. She ran for the Democratic presidential candidacy in the 2020 US presidential election. 

Gabbard ended her presidential campaign in March 2020 to support Joe Biden, and on January 3, 2021, Kai Kahele took Gabbard’s place in the House of Representatives. Gabbard has adopted conservative stances on culture war issues like abortion and transgender rights since she ended her presidential campaign. 

2. Mighty Mo

Siala-Mou Siliga, also known as Mighty Mo, was an American Samoan kickboxer, bare-knuckle boxer, boxer, and mixed martial artist who competed in the Heavyweight division.  He was born on October 8, 1970. His K-1 accomplishments include victory in the K-1 World Grand Prix competitions held in Hawaii in 2007 and Las Vegas II in 2004. He has participated in mixed martial arts bouts for K-1 Heros, Bellator MMA, DREAM, Road FC, and Dynamite!! USA and Dynamite!! 2008. At Road FC 33 on September 24, 2016, Siliga defeated South Korean boxer Choi Hong-man to win the Road FC Openweight Tournament.

3. Musashimaru K艒y艒

Former professional sumo wrestler Musashimaru Ky is from Japan, however, he was born in American Samoa and moved to Hawaii when he was ten years old. He traveled to Japan when he was 18 and began competing in professional sumo in 1989. In 1991, he won the top makuuchi division. His development seemed to halt after attaining the rank of zeki in 1994, but in 1999 he became just the second wrestler from outside of Japan to ever reach the sport’s top rank of yokozuna. Throughout his career, Musashimaru won over 700 matches in the top division and claimed twelve top division tournament titles. He was a difficult opponent due to his sheer 235 kg (518 lb) weight and 1.92 m (6 foot 3+12 in) height, and he was incredibly consistent and injury-free for a long time.

4. Jerome Kaino

Jerome Kaino, a former New Zealand rugby union player, was born on April 6, 1983.

He received the IRB International Under-21 Player of the Year award in 2004. He won the 2011 New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year award, beating out Ma’a Nonu and Richie McCaw in the voting. He is an integral part of the Rugby World Cup champion teams from 2011 and 2015, making him one of only 20 players to have done it. He has played 137 games for the Blues and has reached the century mark in Super Rugby. Many people believe Kaino to be one of the greatest players ever.

5. George R. Achica

George R. Achica is a former American college and professional football defensive tackle. Achica was an All-American who played college football at the University of Southern California. He performed professionally for the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL and the Los Angeles Express of the USFL.

Achica was born in American Samoa on December 19, 1960. He was selected by the Baltimore Colts with the 57th overall choice in the third round of the 1983 NFL Draft, but from 1983 to 1985, he played for the Los Angeles Express of the USFL. With the Express, he appeared in 42 games while recording 12 sacks and recovering a fumble. 

6. Michael Iupati

Samoan-American former guard for gridiron football Michael Iupati played in the National Football League for 11 seasons (NFL). Iupati who is an American Samoan native, attended high school in southern California and played football in college at Idaho, and was named a unanimous All-American. San Francisco 49ers made Iupati their first-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. He played with the 49ers for five seasons, the Arizona Cardinals for four, and the Seattle Seahawks for two.

In the 2010 NFL Draft, Iupati was regarded as one of the top offensive guard prospects.  He was predicted by several scouts to go in the late first or early second round.

7. Eni Faleomavaega

Eni Faleomavaega was an American Samoan politician and attorney who served as the territory’s lieutenant governor (1985-1989) and non-voting delegate to the United States House of Representatives (1989-2015).

He participated in committee work and made speeches in the House as a delegate, but he was not allowed to cast a vote on any legislation’s final passage. He was also Fui Vakapuna’s father-in-law, a former fullback in professional American football.

8. Isaac Sopoaga

Isaac  Sopoaga is a former American football nose tackle. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football in Hawaii.

He was one of the seventeen players as of 2018 to have performed more than 40 repetitions in the 225-pound (102 kg) bench press at the NFL Scouting Combine since 1999. He was praised by scouts for his “excellent strength” and quickness off the snap, but they also critiqued him for his lack of hand technique and propensity to “get tall, which negates his power.” Since Al Noga in 1988, he was the highest-selected defensive lineman for the Hawaii Warriors.

9. Marion Malena

Multiple beauty pageant champion Marion Mageo, better known by her stage name Marion Malena. She is a resident of Seattle, Washington, and she is from American Samoa. Malena won the 2005 Miss Island Queen Pageant and the 2007 Miss American Sevens competitions. Malena took first place in several multi-ethnic transgender pageants, including Miss Gay Asian Pacific Islander International, Miss UTOPIA International, Miss Northwest, and others.

10. Sia Figiel

Sia Figiel is a contemporary American novelist, poet, and artist of Samoan descent. She was raised in a traditional Samoan singing and poetry environment, which had a significant impact on her writing. Albert Wendt, a Samoan novelist, and poet has had the most impact on and inspired Figiel throughout her career.
