13. Akio Morita

Akio Morita was a Japanese famous entrepreneur born on January 26, 1921, and died on October 3, 1999. Akio’s family was dealing with Miso, Sake, and Soy Sauce production in Kosugaya village.

Akio was the eldest among his four siblings and his father had trained him when he was still a child to take over the family business. However, Akio grew interested in mathematics and physics and he joined Osaka Imperial University and graduated in 1944.

In 1945, Akio co-founded Sony a radio repair shop together with Masaru Ibuka in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. Which later grew and made him popular.
