Georgia’s capital and largest city is Atlanta. The Georgian capital is indeed a gem! Several prominent celebrities have chosen to make Atlanta their home. Atlanta is a bustling and energetic city in the south of the United States that is well-known for its extensive history, varied neighborhoods, bustling entertainment industry, award-winning southern cuisine, and abundance of green areas.

Several notable hip-hop performers and R&B musicians have their origins in Atlanta, which has a thriving hip-hop culture and has been dubbed the “hip-hop center of gravity” by The New York Times. Amazingly, Atlanta, where the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is located, was a significant location in both the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.

We’re looking at 25 notable people that reside in Atlanta as well as well-known singers, actors, and musicians.

1. Steve Harvey

Steve works in American television as a host, director, comedian, and actor. He also presents various shows such as The Steve Harvey Morning Show, Celebrity Family Feud, and Judge Steve Harvey, the arbitrary-based court comedy. He once presided over the Miss Universe competition.

Amazingly, Harvey is the creator of the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, a nonprofit trust that offers assistance to young people. In addition to partnering with Kent State University to fund grants at the university, the charity runs an annual camp for fatherless children.

Indeed, Harvey does reside in Atlanta. Harvey is also active in several commercial endeavors in Atlanta, including his there-based Steve Harvey Mentoring Program for Young Men.

2. Rick Ross

American rapper, record executive, and former athlete William Leonard Roberts II are better known by his stage name, Rick Ross. Roberts first made his debut while working for Suave House Records, using the alias Teflon Da Don. The Hustlin’ hitmaker was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and resides in a 109-room home in Atlanta. Amazingly, the Hip-hop musician acquired the magnificent mansion from boxing icon Evander Holyfield for $5.8 million.

3. T.I.

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. is his legal given name. The famous rapper was born and raised in Atlanta. Harris is regarded among the pioneers of the hip-hop subgenre trap music and one of the best-selling hip-hop artists of all time. Three-time Grammy winner Harris has eleven studio albums to his credit, seven of which peaked in the top five on the US Billboard 200 list.

Although Tiny was born in Georgia as well, he now resides in an Atlanta house with his family. For the 14,000-square-foot estate, the Musianian paid $3.26 million. The exclusive gated mansion is situated on the Chattahoochee River.

4. Josh Brolin

Josh is a well-known actor who has a home in Atlanta. Santa Monica, California, was the place of Brolin’s birth on February 12, 1968. Before playing the more prominent part of Brandon Walsh in The Goonies Film, Brolin began his career in TV movies and as a guest performer on TV series. When Brolin was in his mid-20s, he started stock trading and briefly thought about giving up acting.

For $3.25 million, Josh Brolin and his wife Kathryn bought their Atlanta property in 2020. The property is situated on 1.48 acres.

5. Kim Zolciak

Kim Zolciak was raised in Windsor Locks, Connecticut after being born to a military family in Pensacola, Florida. The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which is shown on Bravo, is where Zolciak-Biermann made her debut. Zolciak started working on a country music album in 2008. In 2009, she launched her first single. Kashmere Collection is a collection of skin-care goods that Zolciak-Biermann introduced in May 2016. She lives in Atlanta and has participated in several other reality TV series and business endeavors there.

6. Jeff Foxworthy

This is another famous person who lives in Atlanta. One of the all-time greatest stand-up comedians is Jeff Foxworthy. He’s well known for his one-liners that go, “You might be a redneck.”Foxworthy has six CDs of comedies on major labels. In addition to his autobiography titled No Shirt, No Shoes… No Problem!, he has published other novels based on his redneck humor.

7. Shaquille O’Neal

 Among all-time great centers and basketball players, O’Neal is highly respected. Shaquille O’Neal played for several clubs throughout his career, including the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers. In addition to acting in films and TV series, Shaquille O’Neal has served as a sports analyst for several television networks, including TNT.

Shaquille O’Neal, a well-known NBA player, spent $1.5 million on a two-home estate in the Atlanta region. The interior of this finely constructed house is adorned with appealing, tasteful furnishings. The two buildings come together to create an 8-bedroom, 10-bathroom house.

8. NeNe Leakes

NeNe originally gained notoriety when she was named The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s breakthrough star on Bravo’s reality television program. She is also well known for playing the recurring role of Roz Washington on the Fox comedy-drama series Glee. Leakes established the television production firm NeNe Leakes Entertainment. Incredibly, she bought a property in Atlanta in 2015 that was valued at over $2 million. The 10,000-square-foot house that she calls home is close to Duluth.

9. Ludacris

At the age of nine, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, where he started rapping. After starting his music career in the late 1990s, Ludacris achieved widespread recognition in 2000 with his second album, “Back for the First Time.”Surprisingly, he has throughout the years released a lot of popular songs and albums such as  Chicken-n-Beer and the Red Light District. Disturbing the Peace, which Ludacris founded, is his own record company.

10. Big Boi

Before relocating to Atlanta with his aunt Renee, Patton was born in Savannah, Georgia, where he attended Herschel V. Jenkins High School. Amazingly, his involvement in the southern hip-hop group Outkast with André 3000 is what made him most famous. Additionally, Big Boi has several solo albums such as “The Way You Move” Interestingly, Big Boi established the Big Kidz Foundation in 2006 as a charity organization to assist young people in Atlanta. To foster socially conscious children, the Foundation’s purpose is to offer culturally diversified encounters in the area of humanities.

11. Dwight Howard

Dwight Howard Sr. and Sheryl Howard, members of a prominent athletic family, gave birth to Howard in Atlanta. In addition to becoming an NBA champion, he has been selected to the All-NBA Team eight times, an All-Star five times, and has won three times as the defensive player of the year. Together with the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, Atlanta Hawks, and other clubs, Howard has also played for several other organizations throughout his career.

Amazingly, he decided to purchase one of the biggest houses in Atlanta following an extremely successful career with the Atlanta Hawks. With a living area of more than 35,000 square feet, it is enormous.

12. Julia Roberts

She is one of Hollywood’s most popular actors, with the films in which she has appeared earning a combined total of almost $3.9 billion worldwide. Roberts is the founder and CEO of Red Om Films, a filmmaking firm. The American actress lives in Atlanta.

13. Usher

Usher was nurtured in Chattanooga, Tennessee, after being born in Dallas, Texas, before relocating to Atlanta, Georgia. His mother registered him in local singing contests when he was 12 years old, and this is how a music A&R from LaFace Records came to notice him. Over his career, Usher has received various honors, including eight Grammy Awards. R&B is Usher’s primary musical genre, however, he also frequently uses pop and other styles.

14. Tyler Perry

15. Gucci Mane 

Rapper, composer, and record executive Gucci Mane is well-known. Together with other Atlanta-based rappers, he helped establish the hip-hop style of trap music. With Trap House, Gucci Mane debuted his music in 2005. Gucci Mane has released over 71 mixtapes throughout his career adding to 14 album tracks.
