Ellen Page a Canadian actor and producer was born on 21 February 1987, to Martha Philpotts, and Dennis Page, a graphic designer. He was assigned a female name Ellen at birth which he used before transitioning.

Page attended the Halifax Grammar School until grade ten then joined Queen Elizabeth High School for some time. Later he joined Shambhala School where he graduated in 2005. He studied in the Interact Program at Vaughan Road Academy, Toronto, for two years with Canadian actor Mark Rendall, who was a close friend. 1. He is a pro-choice Feminist

Pro-choice implies the endorsement of widely held values such as liberty and freedom. In 2008, on Abortion Rights Movement, which advocates for legal access to induced abortion services including elective abortion, Page described himself as a pro-choice feminist.

He campaigns for women’s rights in prioritized societies where men are better than women and so women are treated unjustly within those societies. His main aim is to fight against gender stereotypes.

2. He is an atheist

Do you believe in the existence of deities? Well to me I believe there is one Mighty Being that keeps me alive to this day that I am able to execute this article to you. Well, Page does not believe in the existence of deities. According to his remarks,” Religion has always been used for beautiful things, and also as a way to justify discrimination.”

3. He practices a vegan lifestyle

Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet and rejecting the commodity status of animal products. Since Page follows the diet, therefore he is a vegan.

Page was named the sexiest vegetarians of 2014 by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals( PETA). She turned to a vegan diet because she is compassionate for animals and also, she is an environmentalist.

4. She was included in The Advocate Magazine in 2014

The Advocate established in 1967  is an American LGBT-interest magazine printed every two months. It is also available by subscription and also includes a website. The magazine focuses on news, politics, opinions, and arts and entertainment of interest to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender( LGBT) people. Page was one of the included in the “40 Under 40” list in the Advocates annual in 2014.

On 1 December 202, Page came out as transgender on his social media accounts, specified his pronouns like he and they, and revealed his name, Elliot. He explained that COVID- 19 and the ant-transgender rhetoric in politics and the news cycle partially prompted him to reveal his gender. 

Netflix announced that it would adjust the credits in its streaming library to Page’s new name. The Changes were completed by 8 December 2020. 

 The Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other celebrities like Ellen DeGeneres, James Gunn, and Kumail Nanjian expressed support for Page after the announcement, for the first man to come out as the first trans man.

6. Ellen Page is currently known as Elliot Page

When he was born, he was assigned the female name, Ellen. He grew up with people knowing him as Ellen Page instead of Elliot Page. People knew his name as Elliot Page on the incident of 1st December 2020, when he wrote on his Twitter account, the injustices that were made against transgender people including black people.

Elliot said that being one of the queer persons he will not sit and watch the attacks against them. It is the time when he specified his pronouns as “he” and “they”, and revealed his name as Elliot. His name then changed to Elliot Page.

Ellen Page received several awards and nominations as an actress in his performance in Juno(2007). Specifically in Juno, he won three Teen Choice Awards, a Canadian Comedy Award, and a Satellite Award. He also was nominated for two British Academy Films Awards, an Academy Award( Oscar), and a Golden Globe Award.

Page also earned two Primetime Emmy Awards for hosting a documentary series Gaycation in 2016 alongside Ian Daniel. In 2013 he received five award nominations for serving as a voice and motion capture actor in the video game Beyond Two Souls, where the British Academy Games Award for Performer in 2014 was included.

Trailer Park Boys is a Canadian mockumentary sitcom television series created by Mike Clattenburg. It is a continuation of Clattenburg’s 1999 film of the same title. It is about a group of misadvantaged trailer park residents in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Some of the trailer park residents are ex-convicts.

Ellen Page features in the Tv series as Treena Lahey, Jim, and Barbara Lahey’s daughter. She appears regularly in season two. Her father warns her against associating with boys, but quickly develops a friendship with Ricky after he fixes her bicycle. Page is nominated for a Young Artist Award for his recurring roles in the series.

9. Page acted first on camera while he was ten

It was in 1997 when Page starred as Maggie Maclean in the CBC television movie Pit Pony, which was directed by Eric Till. The movie later spun off into a television series of the same name from 1999 to 2000. The film is Page’s deputy role. He was nominated for a Young Artist Award.

10. He took part in the Burma Campaign

He was one of the 30 celebrities who participated in a 2008 online advertisement series for the U.S Campaign for Burma against violation of human rights, calling for an end to the military dictatorship in Myanmar. In his campaign, he had a poster saying,” HITLER IS ALIVE IN BURMA”

Ellen Page has received an international reputation in his career as an actor and a producer. He has his own series on Hulu, Gaycation, which focuses on the lives of different people across the LGBTQ community. She is a world figure who loves equality regardless of gender and also she is an animal activist with full membership in PETA.
