Lin Dan is a well-known figure in the world of badminton. He has already done a great deal at the age of 35. This is his account. Lin Dan was born in Longyan, Fujian, China, on October 14, 1981.

His parents had wished for him to learn how to play the piano. He did try for a while. He began taking classes but barely completed a handful before abandoning them. He simply lacked the enthusiasm for it that his parents desired. He began to pursue his interest in badminton after leaving school. When he was five years old, he began his training.

1.  His wife had at first rejected his proposal

Lin Dan was dating Xie Xingfang, a world champion badminton player as well. When he originally asked her to marry him, she first declined. She didn’t like the fact that their relationship was public.

She was determined to keep her romance a secret. But she eventually accepted his proposal, and they were officially engaged on December 13, 2010. On September 23, 2012, they were married. Beijing University of Technology hosted the ceremony.

2. He cheated on his wife while she was pregnant 

His wife gave birth to their first child on November 5, 2016. He acknowledged having an affair while his wife was pregnant on the 17th of the same month. Zhao Yaqi, an actress and model, is said to be the woman in question.

3. He joined the libertarian army when he was 12

Lin Dan was taken under the wing of the people’s libertarian army’s sports team when he was 12 years old. When he won the national junior championship, he did this. He began playing for China’s national badminton team when he was 18 years old.

Lin Dan won both the team and the boy’s singles events at the Asian Junior Championships in 2000. He also competed in the world junior championships in 2000, where he was a member of the winning team.

Lin Dan was only able to compete in the Badminton Asia Championships once in 2013. However, he was forced to quit after reaching the third round owing to health difficulties. He wasn’t able to participate in all of the games.

Lin Dan is said to be the second richest badminton player of all time, with lifetime earnings of $32.5 million.

Opponent Peter Gade gave him the nickname “Super Dan” at one point. Lin has five tattoos honouring his family, badminton accomplishments, and favourite anime. Over the years, his tattoos have been a matter of debate.
