Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are total perfection – nice surprise about Gosling’s self-deprecating characterization of Ken. Robbie, as always, delivers a spot-on performance.

Kate McKinnon shines in her over-the-top portrayal of Barbie’s protagonist! Absolutely fabulous. IMHO, probably the absolute best character in the film.

Michael Cera is the perfect nerd friend, Alan. Will Ferrel as the Mattel CEO could easily have been edited down to a cameo as he added little or nothing to the storyline.

Helen Mirren’s narration is a joy to hear.

On the downside? America Ferrera’s way too long rants about female empowerment and let’s not forget that Rhea Perlman’s character and her “guidance speeches” could easily have been deleted as she added absolutely nothing to the film.

Director Greta Gerwig would have benefitted from her producers advising her that too many storylines was going to dampen her efforts although I do give her direction a solid 5-stars.

Worth seeing? Yes, for a fun nostalgic romp for diehard Barbie fans.
