I’ve watched so many movies by mark Wahlberg and never in my wildest imagination could I have thought that this guy is such a racist. But karma worked best with him. Did you know this guy was arrested twice for racial hate crimes in his teen? In fact, one attack was so vicious he left the Vietnamese guy blind in one eye. Okay, we could say he was just a troubled kid since this was in the 80s, but he did it twice. Twice! Once you can forgive and sum it up to being childish. But twice?? Now that’s just being vindictive and habitual.

Anyway, in the 80s he was arrested twice for first attacking a group of black children while hurling racial insults at them. He was 15 years old and he and his friends kept on yelling, “kill the n***” while throwing stones at them. They only stopped the attack when an ambulance driver stopped by to intervene. They were never charged for that, though. Then in 1988, at 17 years old, he was again charged with attacking two Vietnamese men while high on the drug PCP. He kept referring to these men as a “Vietnam f***ng sh****.” He then knocked one of the men unconscious with a wooden stick before proceeding to punch his second victim in the eye later that same day.

He was found guilty of violating these men’s civil rights and attempted murder. He pleaded guilty on the claim that he was intoxicated and the attacks weren’t racially inclined. But then again, this wasn’t the first time he was demonstrating racism. Was it? And furthermore, intoxication just brings out the real you. So who are we kidding? Anyway, he was sentenced to two years in prison but only served 45 days. I guess white privilege really came through for him. He tried to wipe clean his criminal record in 2014 by seeking pardon for the attack on the Asian men, but as it turned out, he wasn’t really genuine about it. He was doing it for completely selfish reasons.

Karma, however, knows how to throw some of these things back at your face because, on Monday (27th February 2023), Wahlberg was chosen to present the 2023 SAG awards. The person he presented that award to was an Asian. The very same race he insulted and demeaned years ago. Of course, people were quite mortified after learning of his racial discrimination history but I choose to see it as a way of the universe humbling him. I mean, don’t hate people whom you don’t know. You really don’t know where your paths might cross. Anyway, the guy was pretty uncomfortable as he was presenting the award. I’m sure he got to remember all his past sins and internalize how that humble pie was being shoved down his throat at that precise moment. There he was, being the guy literally presenting an award to the Asian cast of “everything, everywhere all at once.”

I don’t know how I feel about him anymore. In my book, once a racist, always a racist. Wahlberg is just good at hiding, but deep down, he is a racist piece of sh***.
