 John Reno is a French actor of Andalusian Spanish origin. He was born on 30th July 1948 in Casablanca Morocco, to Spanish natives parents who had moved and settled in North Africa.

His mother died when he was a teenager, and he moved to France at the age of 17.  Reno gained French citizenship after he served in the French Army, which was mandatory.

He has worked in French, English, Japanese, Spanish, and Italian productions, and appeared in films such as 鈥楥rimson Rivers鈥, 鈥楪odzilla鈥, 鈥楾he Da Vinci Code鈥 and 鈥楳ission: Impossible.

1. Jean Moved to France at the age of Seventeen

After his mother died, Jean moved to France and joined Cours Simon School of Drama. The school is a private drama school in Paris, founded in 1925.

The school offers a range of advanced training and acting courses for amateur actors.

Jean became a French citizen after serving in the French Army which was mandatory at that time.

Reno was born Juan Moreno y Herrera-Jim茅nez, a Spanish name he was given by his parents who were Spanish immigrants in Morocco.

After he started to get acting jobs in France, Juan adopted the French version of his name, Jean, and shortened his surname to Reno.

Due to his large frame (1.88 m or 6 ft 2 in), Reno was called on to play “heavies” in his early career.

He married his second wife, Nathalie Dyszkiewicz, a Polish model in 1995, they ended their marriage in 2001. The couple had two children together.

Jean married his third wife Zofia Borucka On 29 July 2006, a British model and

actress of Polish descent. Their first son was born in July 2009 and their second son Dean was born in September 2011.

4. Jean Reno Started his acting Career in French

Jean Reno began his film career in France, appearing in many films by director Luc Besson, including his early Le Dernier Combat (1983).

The two have continued to work together, collaborating in films produced, written, or directed by Besson.

 The most successful film he jointly produced with Besson includes La Femme Nikita (1990), the English-language films The Big Blue (1988), and L茅on: The Professional (1994). Reno did the voice-over for Mufasa in the French-language version of The Lion King

In 1994 Jean Reno was nominated at the prestigious C茅sar Awards, in the Best Actor categories for the film ‘Les Visiteurs.

Jean Reno won the Outstanding European achievement in world cinema award at the European film awards in 2000.

he was again nominated for the Audience award in 2001, in the Best Actor category for his role as ‘Pierre Niemans’ in the 2000 film ‘The Crimson Rivers’.

In 2012, he won the Fran莽ois Truffaut Award, awarded annually at the Giffoni Film Festival.

The Lion King is a 1994 American animated musical drama film  produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures

The voice actors were chosen for how they fit and could add to the characters, 

James Earl Jones and later Jean Reno was cast because the directors found their voices “powerful” and similar to a lion’s roar.
