Christoph Waltz was born on 4 October 1956. He is the son of Johannes Waltz, a German set designer, and Elisabeth Urbancic, an Australian designer. She is of Slovenian descent. hristoph is a Germanand Austrarian actot. He has received numerous accolades in his career.

He has been primarily active in the United States since 2009. He starred in the 2020 web series Most Dangerous Game. He received his first primetime Emmy Award nomination for the outstanding drama series. In the article are the top ten facts about Christoph Waltz.

1. Christoph comes from a family theatrical heritage

His maternal grandmother, Maria Mayen was a silent film actress. he performed in Burgtheateronal theaterstria in Vienna and one of the most important theatres in the world.

His grandfather, Emmerich, and his great-grandfather, Georg Reimers, were stage actors who also appeared in silent films.

2. His American breakthrough came in Inglourious Basterds

The 2009 film was made by Quentin Tarantino. Christoph played the role of SS Officer Hans Landa. Hans Landa is an Austraria SS officer assigned to the Sicherheitsdienst. He is nicknamed the Jew hunter for his mysterious ability to locate Jews hiding throughout occupied France.

Landa is intelligent, arrogant, ruthless, and relentless, but also can be circum circumspect, polite, and even charming. For the performance, Christop earned an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, and Golden Globe Award.

Walter received numerous acclaims for his role as SS Officer Hans Landa.  Directors described the situation as wild and offered Waltz offers to play roles in their films. He won the Best Actor Award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival for his splendid performance.

3. Christoph had a passion for opera as a youth

His love for opera started at the age of ten. He saw his first opera Turandot, an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini. with Marta Birgit Nilsson in the titel role.As a teen, Christoph would visit the opera twice a week. Then he was interested in theatre and he wished to become an opera singer.

After he graduated from Vienna’s Theresianum he went to study acting at the renowned Max Reinhardt Seminar. He also studied singing and opera at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. Due to his bad voice singing in Opera was not possible for him and he decided to quit.

Christoph started script interpretation under Adler while he was in New York City. This is after he had trained with Lee Strasberg and Stella Adler. He credits Stella Adler for his successful career.

4. He made his first debut at the Schauspielhaus in Zurich

After he returned to Europe, Christoph found work as a stage actor. Schauspielhaus Zurich was where he made his debut. The theatre is one of the most prominent and important theatres in the German-speaking world. The large theatre has 750 seats.

5. He holds dual citizenship

Christoph was born to a German father who applied for him to become a German citizen after his birth. He received Australian citizenship in 2010. Therefore he holds dual citizenship in both Australia his born country and Germany his registered citizenship country.

6. He has been engaged twice

Christoph has had two wives in his lifetime. His first wife was Jacqueline, a dance therapist originally from Newyork. They had three kids and they lived in Lonon. The marriage lasted for seventeen years after which they separated.

Christoph married his second wife, Judith Holste, A german costume designer. They had a daughter. The family divides their time between Berlin, Vienna, and Los Angeles where they own their homes.

7. He speaks numerous various languages

Christoph Waltz speaks German, English, and French so well. The assumption that Walter speaks the three languages, was testified by the films, Inglorious Basterds, and Django Unchained.

Haneke has made films in French, German, and English and has worked in television and theatre, as well as cinema. He is a teacher of film direction at the Film Academy Vienna.

Waltz’s father died when he was seven years old.  His mother later married composer and conductor Alexander Steinbrecher. Steinbrecher was previously married to the mother of director Michael. Therefore, Waltz and Haneke shared the same stepfather, Steinbrecher.

9. He was a member of the 2013 Cannes Film Festival

2013 Cannes Film Festival,  took place in Cannes, France. Steven Spielberg was the head of the jury for the main competition. New Zealand film director Jane Campin was the head of the jury for the Cinéfondation, and Short Film sections.

Christoph was selected as a member of the main competition. French actress Audrey Tautou hosted the opening and closing ceremonies. Actress Kim Novac was named guest of honor and introduced a newly restored version of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo.

10. He starred in the drama Tulip Fever

The historical romantic drama film is directed by Justin Chadwick and written by Deborah Moggach. The film is about a 17th-century tulip mania painter in Amsterdam.

The painter falls in love with a married woman whose portrait has been commissioned to paint. Chrisopher Waltz fatures as Cornelis  Sandvoort.

Christoph Waltz has gained an international reputation as a professional actor. He is a good example of a few persistent people in the film industry. He once told Daily Actor that, he had to try to make it to Hollywood for years and he was already giving up. He has starred in about 14 movies and of course, there is more to come.
