Born in December 1997, Suzuka is best known by her stage name, Su-Metal, or simply Suzuka. She is a Japanese musician, songwriter, singer, and also model.  She has been in the music industry scene ever since she was a teenager thus meaning that she has been in the game for quite some time. Suzuka is considered one of the most famous Japanese people. As a Japanese woman, she has managed to place her country on the map also managing to be in the category of one of the most famous Japanese singers in the world.  Some of the facts about Suzuka Nakamoto are listed below.

1. Best known as the lead vocalist of the Kawaii metal band

Professionally, she is known best as a member of the Kawaii metal band and Babymetal. She is highly regarded and recognized by the ability organization known as Amuse, Inc. This simply means that she is constantly recognized for her beautifully done vocals. Moreover, she has been a part of the three melodic groups shaped by the same organization. That is, Karen Girls, Sakura, and Babymetal.

2. Suzuka won the Grand Prix Award in 2002

In the year 2002, at only 5 years old, Suzuka won the Grand Prix Award under the Image Girl category. This was for the Jewel Drop company. That is, a line of toy beautifying agents created by Bandai, a very big toy company based in Japan. Additionally, these lines featured in a few Jewel Drop commercials and Suzuka was part of it.

3. Suzuka Nakamoto was admitted to Actor’s School Hiroshima in 2006

In 2006, when she was 9 years old, Suzuka was admitted to the Actor’s School, Hiroshima.  She was considered for this position together with another girl known as Sugimoto Mariri, whom she had known even before going to the school. Both of them were members of Sakura Gakuin. This was a Japanese idol girl group formed in 2010 by the same organization that recognized Suzuka, Amuse talent agency. This group’s membership was within the range of Japanese compulsory education, containing 10-12 members between the ages of 10-15.

4. She was also chosen to be in a trio in 2008

In 2008, at age 11, her signing agency formed a trio that was named Karen Girls. Suzuka got the opportunity to be chosen to be in it and this was one of the many highlights of her career. The choreographer for this group was Mikiko Mizuno who later, ironically, became the choreographer of Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal. Both of which Suzuka was a part of.

5. Suzuka made a vow to never cry in front of her audience

In one of the blog entries, Suzuka admitted that she made a promise to Mikiko, their group’s choreographer, to never ever cry in front of an audience. Her decision on this was based on the desire to always be able to look collected and composed and convey the very best execution for the audience. This is pretty impressive as it shows she always has her fans and audience at the back of her mind and more than anything else wants to ensure that she always has her head high for them.

6. She is the youngest sibling

Suzuka is the youngest of her siblings. She has three sisters. Her second sister known as Himeka Nakamoto is a former member of the idol group that was known as Nogizaka46. Additionally, the sister attended Actor’s School Hiroshima (ASH) too. Goes to show that the talent of music and artistry runs in the family because Suzuka and her sister even sang together for a while as a duo. They were known as Tween.

7. Suzuka was signed to the talent agency, Amuse Inc.

As mentioned earlier, Suzuka’s career started when she was really young. In 2007, when she was only 10 years old, she got signed with Amuse Inc and this is where so many of her doors were opened. This was incidentally after becoming runners-up in the second ‘Star Kids’ Audition that was held by the same company.

8. Was  awarded for having a ‘staggering singing capacity’

Not so long ago, Nakamoto was placed in position nine on the Oricon News positioning. This was during the 2018 ranking s for anticipation of new adults. During this ranking, Nakamoto was applauded and recognized for her ‘staggering singing capacity.’ That was actually the title of her recognition. Very impressive indeed.

9. Her mom works with gemstones

Even more impressive and encouraging to know, Suzuka’s mom works with gemstones. Occasionally, she gives gemstone accessories to her daughter’s fellow Babymetal members as gifts. Pretty cool and nurturing right? Fun fact: Her father played in a rock band that was known as Hooligans back in the day. Seems like musical talent does indeed run in the family.

10. Suzuka graduated in 2013 which also meant graduating from Sakura Gakuin

In 2013, at age 16 now, Suzuka Nakamoto graduated from junior high school which basically meant that she had to graduate also from Sakura Gakuin. Why? Because as mentioned earlier, this stage is typically for girls up to age 15. Her graduation was met with a lot of celebrations where a graduation concert was held on March 31st at the Tokyo International Forum. Following up on her graduation from Sakura Gakuin, Nakamoto now performs with Babymetal under the stage name, Su-metal. Back in February 2014, Babymetal’s self-titled debut album was released.

As a young artist, Suzuka Nakamoto has surely managed to achieve so much and that is quite impressive. She is a role model to so many young girls who would want to follow a similar path.
