Eran Zahavi is an Israeli professional footballer who plays as the forward for the Israel national team. He was born on 25^th July 1987 in Rishon LeZion, Israel. Eran Zahavi was born to Jewish parents.

Eran Zahavi made his debut for Israel national team in 2010. He is the current all-time top scorer of the national team with 33 goals. He has more than sixty-five appearances for the Israel national team.

He currently plays for the Netherlands side PSV Eindhoven football club. Here are the ten interesting facts about Eran Zahavi;

1. Eran Zahavi Youth Football Career

In 1993 at the age of 6, Eran Zahavi began his football career at Hapoel Tel Aviv. He linked up with several other young Israeli at his first club where he spent ten years. Eran Zahavi, later on, decided to pursue his football career by joining Hapoel Ironi Rishon LeZion from 2003 to 2005.

He, later on, opted to rejoin Hapoel Tel Aviv in 2005 where he spent his youth career till 2006.

2. Served in the Israel Defense Forces

Eran Zahavi served in the Israel Defense Forces. As a mandatory law for all Israelis due to the conscription law since independence in 1948, Eran Zahavi had to pause his football career and serve in the forces.

Because he is of Jewish origin, Eran Zahavi had to complete his course in the Israel Defense forces before heading back to his team.

3. Became the Second Israeli footballer in China

Liron Zarko was the first Israeli footballer to play in China. Eran Zahavi became the second Israeli player in China after completing his transfer to Guangzhou R&F.

On 29^th June 2016, Eran Zahavi completed a $12.5 million worth move to the Chinese Super League. He signed two years and a half contract with Guangzhou football club.

Eran Zahavi made his debut for the new club on 2^nd July coming on as a substitute in the match against Shijiazhuang Ever Bright.

The scores were at 1-1, but Eran scored one goal and provided an assist as his new team won 4-2. He, later on, scored a hat-trick in his second match in the Chinese FA Cup.

Eran Zahavi played for the Chinese club from 2016 to 2020. He made one hundred and six appearances and scored ninety-one goals during this period.

4. Eran Zahavi Home in Netherlands Broken Into twice by Armed Robbers

On 9^th May 2021, Eran Zahavi was with his teammates preparing for a match against Willem 2. He had to pull out of the match preparations after hearing word that armed robbers had broken into his home.

The two robbers had pretended to be delivery people who brandished their weapons and tied Zahavi鈥檚 wife in front of their three children. The police reports stated that the armed robbers never harmed the wife and children of Eran Zahavi.

On 13^th December 2021, the home of Eran Zahavi was broken into for the second time. This time his family was not at home. The robbers ransacked the house and stole valuables as they were on vacation in Dubai.

On 19^th May 2021, amid the escalating violence in the Middle East, Manchester United duo Paul Pogba and Amad Diallo carried a Palestine flag.

The two Manchester players were standing up with Palestine. However, Eran Zahavi edited this photo and replaced the Palestine flag with the Israel flag.

6. Zahavi got more than 500k Likes to join Turkish team

On 6^th September 2020, there were rumours of a transfer deal of Eran Zahavi to Fenerbahce football club. A reliable Instagram account issued a personal invite to Zahavi to join the Turkish club.

Within hours, the post received more than 500k likes as the supporters wanted him to join the club. The agent of Eran Zahavi went ahead to appreciate the support though he never moved that summer.

7. Eran Zahavi was Named Israeli Footballer of the Year Twice

Eran Zahavi has always been a prolific footballer who scores several goals. He was named the Israeli footballer of the year for two consecutive seasons.

Eran Zahavi became the Israeli footballer of the year in the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 seasons. During the 2013-2014 season, Eran Zahavi finished the season by scoring 29 goals. In the 2014-2015 season, he also scored 35 goals.

8. Zahavi Became the Top Scorer of The IPL for 3 Consecutive Seasons

While playing in the Israeli Premier League {IPL}, Eran Zahavi was also scoring goals for fun for his club. He managed to become the top scorer for three consecutive seasons, a record that has never been broken.

In the 2013-2014 season, Eran Zahavi scored twenty-nine goals. In the 2014-2015  season, he scored twenty-seven goals. And in the 2016-2017 season, Eran Zahavi scored thirty-five goals, an all-time league record set in the Israeli Premier League.

9. Eran Zahavi Broke Another Major Record in the Israeli Premier League

Before moving to Europe, Eran Zahavi broke several records in the Israeli Premier League.

In 2014 December, Eran Zahavi broke the record of being the first player in the senior Israeli Premier League to score in consecutive appearances.

He managed to score in 18 games in a row.

10. He was named the Most Valuable Player in the Chinese League

During his four stints in the Chinese super league, Eran Zahava broke several records by being a brilliant player. In the 2017 season, Eran Zahavi managed to score twenty-seven league goals.

This was one short of the league record but he won the Chinese Super League Golden Boot Award.

It is during this season that he was named the most valuable player in the Chinese Super League. He was also selected for the Chinese Super League team of the year.

Eran Zahavi is still enjoying a massive football career at an elite top level. In 2021-2022 as he was playing for PSV, he was named the Europa Conference League player of the season.

His contract ran out after the 2021-2022 season. Eran Zahavi is yet to name his next club, but he will still get a club to play for next season.
