Liverpool is a maritime city in northwest England. It is known for several things including music, having been termed as the world capital city of pop. It is home to the pop band, the Beatles, one of the most critically acclaimed bands in pop music.

 It is therefore no wonder that the city’s only airport is named after John Lennon, one of the Beatles’ band members. Liverpool John Lennon International Airport is located 7.5 miles southeast of Liverpool’s city center.

Several airlines operate here, including EasyJet, Wizz Air, Ryanair, and Blue Air. Travelling can be quite costly sometimes, so we have put together some cheap flights from Liverpool.

2. Alicante

Alicante is a historic Spanish port city located in the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. It’s only a 3-hour nonstop flight from Liverpool.

 The city’s expansive beaches are perfect for a weekend getaway in good weather. Enjoy sunbathing, sailing, or swimming in the cool Mediterranean waters before grabbing great food in the restaurants and tapas bars lined up in the city’s main port.

Stroll through the narrow cobblestone streets and colored houses of Alicante’s Old Town, the Barrio de la Santa Cruz. Its Old Town quarter houses Gothic cathedrals and medieval structures dating back to the 16th century.

If you’re spending a night or two, you’ll be pleased to know that Alicante’s nightlife scene is what you call epic. Besides lively bar by the night, the city’s street life is hardly boring with street performances and cultural activities all year.

3. Barcelona

Just barely 2 hours on a nonstop flight from Liverpool, this city has the best of almost everything to offer.

It is home to the world-famous football club, FC Barcelona. You can watch football matches live in the Camp Nou stadium, one of the most visited places in Barcelona.

4. Dublin

Dublin is the capital and largest city of Ireland. It is located on its east coast at the mouth of River Liffey. Dublin was named a UNESCO city of literature in 2010, and the title fits perfectly.

It has produced Nobel Prize winners, including Samuel Beckett, William Butler Yeast, and George Bernard Shaw. It has a world-class library and hosts numerous book festivals annually.

The Old Library of Trinity College houses the Book of Kells, an illustrated manuscript made by Irish monks in 800 AD. Dublin is home to known literary minds such as Oscar Wilde and Jonathan Swift.

Besides literature, tour the 13th century Dublin Castle and the old towering St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The city has a vibrant and youthful vibe to it as well, and the nightlife is just a snippet of it.

Temple Bar, located near River Liffey is the best-known area for an epic night scene. Worth a visit.

5. Billund

This relatively small town set in the center of Denmark is as unique as a town can get. We could it the ultimate home of creative toys tradition, being the birthplace of LEGO bricks.

It is the perfect family fun adventure destination! A dream town for diehard LEGO fans as well.

The Legoland Billund Resort is one of the main attractions. It combines the Legoland theme park and the Lalandia Acquadrome waterpark.
