The Best Cafes in London for Fruitarians

Prior to investigating this piece, I had presumed being a fruitarian in London would be a piece of cake. A city devoted to health trends and perpetual progression seemed like the perfect place for a fruit eater to blend in with ease.

On the contrary, London might be one of the most limited cities in terms of availability of meals for fruitarians. Aside from any of the fresh produce markets, fruitarians have but a few spots where they can sit and dine in.

Here they are in no particular order.

Platter London in London

Platter London is a coffee shop near Kensington Palace, just off the main road where the guided walking tour go by.

Most come here for coffee and baked treats between their day’s activities, but as the name would suggest, this spot offers additional services as well.

At Platter one can order a variety of different, well, platters either for dine in or take away purposed. The platters are unique, and beautifully bespoke, making them the talk of the town at the moment for corporate events and parties.

Their fruit platters are equally as impressive, and can be ordered in a variety of different sizes. The smaller one makes for a hearty fruitarian meal, if you ask me. Alternatively you can size up and enjoy a bigger version in the park amongst friends.

Either way this is a great spot to get a wholesome fruit fix with variety and care. You may need to call in advance, depending on how busy they are.

The Good Life Eatery in London

The Good Life Eatery are health cafes that you’ll see in various parts of the city. They are your typical breakfast and brunch spot offering everything from Eggs Benny to yummy waffles.

In terms of fruitarian catering, there are a few options. One, fruitarians can consume their meals liquid and indulge in the many fresh pressed juices that The Good Life makes daily.

Secondly, the menu has a fruit bowl option; typically a range of fresh berries and chopped fruits topped with coconut and served with yoghurt. You can easily request the yoghurt simply be replaced for more fruits.

Finally, their acai bowl is solely a fruit blend, and it is topped with fresh fruits to finish. If you’re strict about granola then, again, request that this simply be replaced with extra fruit toppings.

The branch listed below is in Marylebone and is my personal favorite one. If this is not near to your Airbnb or hotel simply search the cafe and you should find one within walking distance. The menu is the same throughout.

Raw Press in London

All fruitarians know that a pressed juicery is their best friend when in a foreign country. Raw Press is a popular spot in London that sees its fair share of tourists daily as travelers like light, energizing meals between sight seeing and guided walking tours.

At Raw Press your options are of high variety as a fruitarian. You have the option of any of the pressed juices containing multiple items of fruits in each. You then also have choice of the many, many smoothie bowls on offer.

Again, you’ll need to request the granola or yoghurt toppings be replaced by extra fruits; they are always happy to do this. Their acai bowls are fruit filled and not blended with anything strange; only the granola needs to be replaced.

Then, as an added bonus (and depending on how busy they are), you can also request that the kitchen serve you a full bowl of mixed fruits of the day. This is not on the menu, but they can charge you for a full smoothie bowl and then serve you fruits instead. It’s an unblended smoothie bowl, if you will.

Viva Acai in London

Not all acai spots in London are fruitarian friendly, unfortunately. You’d be surprised how many insist on blending their pulp with nut milks or coconut cream (why?).

At Viva Acai you’re safe. Their bowls are pure and fruity through and through.

Toppings generally involve granola, but they will happily leave this out and simply throw on some extra berries and dried fruits for texture.

Of course many of the acai spots in London will likely blend your bowl without said nut milk or coconut cream if you simply request so. But finding spots like Viva Acai who understand this superfood and the way it is traditionally served in the berry’s land of origin, Brazil, is a good initiative to support especially as a fruitarian.

The Streets of Shoreditch in London

This isn’t a specific cafe per say, but the streets of Shoreditch are known as the best place to be to find unusual or hard to come by meals.

This is London’s hub for street food. As you wander between the roads you’ll pass by all kinds of creative kiosks set up to sell food throughout the day. Some work out of abandoned cars, some pop up stalls and others walk with trays around their necks, bringing the food to you.

I wouldn’t be able to tell you their exact spots as they move around frequently, but there are one or two fruit stalls that work these streets as well. The first is a juicing stall that will blend bunches of fruits into liquid meals for you, and the second is an actual fruit cutter who will chop ten to fifteen different fruits into a takeaway meal.
