Founded in 1964 under the name of London Graduate School of Business Studies, this school was designated a part of the University of London less than a full year later.

By 1968, the school established one of the only MSc programs outside of the US for the Sloan Fellowship. The following ear, the first doctoral program was created, and by 1974, the school made huge strides with over 15% of the student body being comprised of women. In 2007, a new campus was opened in Dubai to Executive MBA and Education Programs.
