Here comes a rare opportunity for everyone to have an exclusive nighttime at their best museums and archaeological sites in the eternal city. Since daytime activities can limit people from reaching their favorite museums, the European Union introduced a night of museums in Rome and across the country. Saturday, May 18, is the date you need to mark on your calendars. This is the day that Rome’s museums, archaeological sites, monuments, art galleries, libraries, and embassies will be open to the public from 8 pm to 2 am.

La Notte dei Musei, also known as Rome’s Night of Museums, is a chance for everyone to explore Rome’s gems at night. You have a chance to immerse yourself in Roman art and history and enjoy the local vibe in one night. To make the night more interesting, these places will only charge you one euro for this exclusive experience.

The participating museums in the city include Mercati di Traiano, Museo dei Fori Imperiali, Museo dell’Ara Pacis, Museo di Roma, Museo Napoleonico, and Capitoline Museums, among others.

Rome’s famous monuments, such as the Colosseum, the St. Peter Basilica, and the Roman Forum, among others, will be open for one euro.

With different events and several museums participating, La Notte dei Museu has everything for everyone. Regardless of where you come from, whether visiting or living in the city, make sure to be part of this once-in-a-year experience
