Athletes Showcase at Iconic Landmarks Across Paris for 2024 Olympics

Paris is filled with excitement as we slowly wait for the Olympics opening ceremony scheduled on July 26 along the Seine River. The Olympics will last until August 11th 2024. Athletes from France have been showing off their skills at some of Paris’s most famous sites. This is a unique way of fusing the city’s breathtaking architecture with the spirit of sport.

According to , Penelope Leprevost, the Olympic show jump champion posed at the Chateau de Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors. The magnificence of the French monarchy is demonstrated by this great hall, which was designed in 1678.

The Orsay Museum, which houses the largest collection of Impressionist paintings in the world, was once a railway station that was constructed in 1900. Mathias Dandois, a BMX rider, rode his bike inside. At the renowned opera house, The Opera Garnier, which welcomes about half a million tourists annually, fencer Yannick Borel struck a pose with his epee.

Tennis player Diane Parry was photographed at the Salle Ovale Richelieu of The Richelieu-Louvois Library, which opened in 1868. Laetitia Guapo, a basketball player, posed in the quaint arcade known as Galerie Vivienne, which was built in 1823 and designated a historical monument in 1974.

The Paralympic triple jumper, Arnaud Assoumani, stood tall in front of The Louvre Pyramide, a historic stronghold that has been converted into one of the world’s largest museums. Florian Jouanny, a biker, demonstrated his strength on the early twentieth-century Bir-Hakeim Bridge, a two-story bridge.

Cyril Chahboune, a volleyball player and an Air Parachute Commando, posed at The Grevin Wax Museum, which has over 500 well-known wax figures. Canoeist Marjorie Delassus was in the Jardin du Luxembourg, which has been managed by the French Senate since 1799.

Thibaut Collet, a pole vaulter, poses alongside Notre-Dame Cathedral, which is still being rebuilt after a massive fire in 2019. Guillaume Toucoullet, a paralympic archer, poses with The Orsay Museum’s famous clock.
