Going to Barcelona, there are some unmissable attractions that everyone wouldn’t want to miss on their journey, and one such attraction is the Montserrat Museum.

The Museum of Montserrat showcases a selection of the most outstanding artistic and archaeological heritage at the thousand-year-old Abbey of Montserrat.

Well, with all these outstanding offerings, visitors seem to overlook some things in the museum, such as the entrance, but that won’t be the case any longer.

The museum’s management has devised a plan to make the entrance more visible since it was largely unnoticed by visitors.

They have hired none other than Lleidan street artist Lily Brick to paint the walls of the entrance at the Museum, and the mural is believed to have the capability of attracting more attention.

What a perfect way to make an entrance than to hire Lleidan street artist Lily Brick to create the paintings.

Considered one of the most influential urban artists in the world, Lily Brick is a Catalan artist and muralist inspired by the works of Alfons Mucha and Tamara de Lempicka.

She studied graphic design and adopted her pseudonym in 2014 as a tribute to the Russian artist Lília Brick to dedicate her work professionally to street art.

Her work is recognized internationally, having painted murals in England, Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, France, Morocco, and many more in Catalonia and Spain.

Painting at the Montserrat museum is an honour for her, given that the building was designed by Josep Puig I Cadafalch, a Catalan modernist architect whom she greatly admires.

Little stories fill the mural, with the entire idea behind having the painting for the public to see not just a painting but a story too. The wall will have people looking at art the same way they do in museums.

The rationale behind that is an ode to falling in love with art and intentionally desisting from showing any kind of screen, including cell phones.

Talking to , she said, “We have to forget the screen. We have a desire to preserve and keep, and I think it’s very important to keep the memory because if we don’t, we deprive ourselves of the gift of feeling and moving.”

With the painting in place, it is a chance for the Montserrat museum to get a makeover, and what better way to welcome visitors who will be treated to art from the entrance to the general works, which include artistry by numerous artists, including Miró, Monet, Picasso, Caravaggio, Dalí, and Fortuny.

Everyone who visits the museum will leave completely nourished with the impeccable works from some of the greatest artists to ever walk this earth, from the entrance to the innermost part.
