Summer is knocking in Europe and Rome is a hotspot destination for most celebrities. Rome has been known by many for being a favorite vacation destination for the elite and extremely famous. Its rich history and cultural heritage have made it a bucket list destination for many. 

Rome has no problem impressing the A-listers. In this list of celebrities we are excluding religious leaders like the pope and cardinals or the archbishop of Canterbury and instead focusing on either political leaders or entertainment and culture-type celebrities.

1. The Colosseum

The Colosseum is one of the most popular sights in Rome and one of the most recognizable landmarks in the entire world. Whether you’re there to spot a celebrity or not, when on a trip to Rome, you can’t miss a visit to the Colosseum.

The Colosseum is a famous Roman amphitheatre that was built between 72 and 80 AD. The three-tired theatre is the largest amphitheatre ever built, and the largest still-standing amphitheatre in the entire world.

In 2019, Jessica Alba was spotted touring the Colosseum with her kids and sister. She wrote on her Instagram, “Loved ancient Rome tour, with the Colosseum and Roman Forum being particular favourites. “We went inside a special entrance, through the gladiator entrance. We then walked to the old Roman Forum during sunset.”

2. Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is a beautiful and historic park located in the heart of Rome, Italy. The park is situated on Pincian Hill and offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding areas.

The park is home to a variety of different attractions, including gardens and sculptures. One of the most famous museums in the park is the Galleria Borghese, which is home to an incredible collection of artworks by some of the most famous artists of the Renaissance and Baroque periods, including Bernini, Caravaggio, and Raphael.

Michael Jackson’s three children have been spotted enjoying some quality time together on a city break to Rome. Paris, 21, Prince, 22, and the rarely seen youngest 17-year-old Bigi, who changed his name from Blanket in 2015, were pictured mingling among tourists at the Italian holiday destination.

3. Vatican City

The Vatican City, a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy, is the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church. It’s home to the Pope and a trove of iconic art and architecture.

Every tourist on a trip to Rome has to make a pit spot at the Vatican. Needless to say, Celebrities alike visit this tourist hotspot. 

After her divorce from Kanye, Kim Kardashian joined model Kate Moss on a tour of Vatican City. On social media, Kardashian shared a series of images from the day. Kim and her friends were seen in a series of photos posing in front of the artwork and within the walls of St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. 

4. Gelateria

Gelato is the common word in Italian for all kinds of ice cream. Rome is the hub of over 10 Gelaterias and of you’re a foodie and a sweet tooth, you might run into one of your favorite celebrities here. 

Sylvester Stallone was spotted enjoying some gelato in a Roman gelateria, together with his family. He enjoyed it so much, he offered to start serving some to the customers waiting. 

5. Via del Corso

If you’re in Rome for a shopping spree, you might run into a celebrity doing the same. The Via del Corso in Rome is a historic main street marked by some of the best shopping in the city, historic buildings, restaurants and access to tons of attractions. Christiane Filangieri a famous actress was recently sighted at Via del Corso.
