Travelers between V谩clav Havel Airport and Prague City Centre will in the coming years speed up travel times once the Prague Airport rail connection is complete. The Railway Administration (S沤) earlier this week gave a green light to the progression of this direct railway connection between Prague and Kladno. The railway will include a link to Prague Airport.

The railway will be double-tracked and electrified, enhancing the speed and frequency of travel times. The present railway connecting Prague to Central Bohemia鈥檚 largest city, Kladno runs on a single track which limits its capacity.

The project will include the upgrading of existing stations as well as the addition of new stops along the way. This line will eventually connect Prague Airport to other city-center transport infrastructure to enhance effectiveness in the transport industry.

Prague鈥檚 main rail station Hlavn铆 n谩dra啪铆 will be connected to this line, as well as Masarykovo n谩dra啪铆 and the Prague-Bubny station in Prague 7. N谩dra啪铆 Veleslav铆n in Prague 6 will also be connected to the line while Negrelli Viaduct in Karl铆n will join the rail line at Prague-Bubny station.

This interconnection will enhance the ease of travel within the city and its surroundings as expressed by Ji艡铆 Svoboda, the director of the Czech Railway Administration.”This new Prague Airport railway station will significantly improve travel comfort and reduce the traffic load in the area,鈥� said Svoboda.
