Neymar could leave PSG this summer for Premier League

After Manchester United was rumored to be interested in a blockbuster summer deal for the Paris Saint-Germain attacker, Erik ten Hag would not rule out a move for Neymar.

The Premier League has been mentioned as the 31-year-old international from Brazil’s most likely destination if he decides to leave Parc des Princes in the forthcoming transfer window.
If PSG decides to try and sell the veteran at the end of the current season, only a select few clubs, including United, would be able to afford Neymar’s high price demands. And according to certain French publications, discussions about a prospective deal have already started.

According to L’Equipe, a number of English clubs have expressed interest in Neymar, but Manchester United has made the most headway in reaching a deal. Ten Hag failed to put an end to this rumor during a press conference on Wednesday.

Although Neymar’s current deal doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027, it’s thought that PSG would be open to helping him go. Recently, the forward was the target of a protest from supporters, who voiced their displeasure in front of his house.

Despite his problems with PSG supporters, Neymar is still likely to draw a lot of interest this summer from prestigious suitors. This week, it was suggested that the former Barcelona player may be a target for United, but only if Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani is successful in buying the team from the Glazer family.

Although the Premier League would consider Neymar’s arrival a success, not everyone is in favor of Manchester United signing the player with 124 caps.

And United fan favorite Louis Saha, who played for the club for four years, is sure that signing the PSG star would be a step backward for his former team, who had advanced significantly since Ten Hag took over the reins at Old Trafford.

“It would be great for the Premier League to have Neymar playing in England because he’s such a terrific player,” Saha told Betfred. “He’s very entertaining to watch but I can understand the question marks that can come from having a player like Neymar at your club.

“I’m just a big fan of the player on the pitch but I don’t believe he’s lived up to expectations in his last three or four seasons with PSG. I wouldn’t want to see him in a Manchester United shirt considering the exaggerated media attention a superstar like him would attract.

“The team structure is so important and still fragile at times. But I certainly believe he’d be a great addition to the Premier League.”
