 Filming has commenced for a new special series of the popular TV show Golf’s Greatest Holes, shining the spotlight on the challenging 18 holes of the Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush ahead of the 153rd Open Championship next summer. The series, titled “The Open Special,” will be a six-part series supported by Tourism Ireland and headlined by golfer Paul McGinley and presenter Chris Hollins.

 With millions of viewers anticipated across Great Britain and worldwide, including the United States, the show is set to feature prominent local golf stars such as Darren Clarke, who is an honorary member of Royal Portrush and the 2011 Open Championship winner.

 Siobhan McManamy, ’s Director of Markets, expressed the organization’s enthusiasm for sponsoring the new series, emphasizing the potential of the show to showcase world-class golf in Northern Ireland and inspire golf enthusiasts to include Northern Ireland in their future golf travel plans.

 It has been revealed that the first series of Golf’s Greatest Holes reached a global television audience of millions and garnered over 50 million digital viewers, enjoying repeated screenings by more than 40 broadcasters and being featured on numerous airlines’ inflight entertainment services.

 Tourism Ireland’s support for this production is part of its efforts to promote and encourage travel to Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland. The series is expected to significantly impact golf tourism and international viewership, promoting Royal Portrush and Northern Ireland as premier golfing destinations.
