Primo Maggio is a special day in the Roman calendar and more than fifty other countries and cities worldwide. Labor Day, also known as Festa Del Lavoro, is on May 1 every year.

The 2024 Labor Day celebration falls on a Wednesday, and it comes with a lot of surprise packages, including free concerts. The Roman workers, the general public, Rome locals, visitors, and tourists are all welcome to be part of this special day.

Labor Day celebrates the efforts that workers put in to ensure that industries and companies are running continuously. The celebration is tracked back to the nineteenth century, when the labor union movements were formed to fight for and protect the rights of workers, including proper compensation and the provision of a safe working environment.

Rome marks this year’s Labor Day by making it a public holiday. All public and private offices will be closed on Wednesday as workers take a day off from their busy schedules.

Rome’s major labor unions will host a massive rally with an all-day music festival. There will be invited Roman and Italian famous artists to entertain the onlookers.
