As part of the celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of impressionism in the world of art, Rome has staged an exhibition at the Museo Storico della Fenteria. The exhibition, ending on July 28, gives Romans and people from all parts of the world a chance to look back in history and understand the emergence of the Impressionism movement. Titled ‘Impressionists: The Dawn of Modernity’ not only celebrates the anniversary but also explores the origins and history of the movement with pieces of art.

The exhibit has set its focus on pieces of art that have never been seen before by the public. Here you will encounter more than two hundred paintings, sculptures, and drawings that have been assembled from private collections.

Although you will come across some familiar names, such as Monet and Degas, you will also see some of the works that have never been displayed in public places. More so, this is also a chance to deeply know some of the impressionist artists who were less known around the world.

Get to know the technology that was implemented in the wake of impressionism in France and eventually spread across Europe and worldwide. You will see daily objects that were used, photographs, and letters from the ancient days.

Be a part of this one-hundred-and-fifty-year-old movement that has shaped the world of art and understand the dawn of modernity in Rome
