As summer is in full swing, travel enthusiasts and sun seekers are in for a treat as the Emerald Isle is set to experience its hottest weekend of the year so far. According to Met Eireann, temperatures will soar to a scorching 22 degrees on Friday and Saturday with plenty of sunshine and dry spells, making it the perfect time for a quick getaway or a weekend trip.

The weather forecast predicts that today will be cloudy in many areas but with some bright or sunny spells. The highest temperatures will be around 16 to 19 degrees, so it might be a good idea to pack some light layers for the day ahead. Tonight will be dry with a mix of cloud and clear spells, with temperatures hitting the lows of 5 to 9 degrees. So, don’t forget to pack a light jacket or sweater for the evening.

Tomorrow will be a dry day with some good spells of sunshine, albeit hazy at times. It will be a warm day with temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees, so make sure to pack some sunscreen and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.

Friday is set to be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures hitting as high as 22 degrees. It will be a dry day with plenty of sunshine developing, making it the perfect day to hit the beach or enjoy some outdoor activities. Winds will be light to moderate and mostly southerly, with onshore sea breezes developing in some coastal parts.

Saturday is expected to be another dry, warm day with lots of sunshine once again, possibly turning a little hazy at times though. It’s the perfect day for a picnic or a hiking trip, with temperatures generally ranging from 19 to 22 degrees, the warmest inland. It’ll be a touch cooler in some coastal parts of the south and east. Winds will be mostly moderate southerly.

If you plan to stay for the weekend, it’s likely to stay dry in most areas on Saturday night with some clear spells, though there’s a chance of some showers or rain, mainly across the south and west. Sunday may have more clouds around with showers breaking out, some heavy, but a good lot of dry weather is likely too, with some further spells of sunshine. So, it’s recommended to pack a rain jacket or umbrella just in case.

The upcoming weekend is set to be a wonderful time to travel and explore the beauty of Ireland, with an abundance of warm weather and sunshine. So, get ready to pack your bags and enjoy the hottest weekend of the year so far!
