French Phenom Impressed Agent The First Time They Met

If you are just catching up to the Victor Wembanyama hype train now like everyone else around the globe whether they are basketball fans or not, some people knew him before everyone else.

Victor Wembanyama is the hottest talent in basketball right now. The hype surrounding the young lad is incredible. The hype around Wembanyama has been compared to that LeBron James got back in 2003 when he was expected to be on the way to the NBA.

Victor is gifted in various ways both physically and in-court. We expect nothing less from someone who is 7’4″ tall and has an 8-foot wingspan. He has been known for his talent and general playing style, though. Due to his alien-like height, Victor will undoubtedly find it easier to complete some tasks that other players cannot.

His strong ball-handling skills and quick first step allow him to outrun the defence and make the shot despite his height. Beyond the three-point line, his shooting is fluid and lethal.

In the defensive paint, his height and speed make him a potent rim protector and a force to be reckoned with.

He stands out both in height and skill, no wonder everyone is so much interested in being associated with him. LA Clippers baller Nicholas Batum claims he saw the talent in Wembanyama early on and it seems he was not the only one who thought Wembanyama is immensely talented.

Talking to Andscape, Wembanyama Dallas-based agent Bouna Ndiaye says he identified the talent in Wembanyama the first time he saw him.

Ndiaye and Wembanyama’s mother, Elodie de Fautereau have been long-term acquaintances thanks to their business in basketball as Elodie is a youth basketball coach and Ndiaye is a basketball agent.

At first, Bouna doubted Victor’s hype then when he was still young but the wave finally suppressed him that he saw fit to see the young Victor play in p[erson.

Talking to Andscape, Bouna said “My friend told me, ‘The son of your friend is big-time. You have to go watch him. He’s 13. You have to go watch him. He’s special. So finally, I went. I called his mom and told her I was coming for fun. Not working. I’m coming as a friend.

So, I went to watch. But when I saw him, I knew he was just special by the way he passed, dribbled … I saw him a few times after that and with the French U-16 team. He’s unlimited.”

Since then Bouna and Wembanyama have been inseparable with Ndiaye taking him under his wing as his agent. Bouna is a decorated agent who has been able to represent who is who in the basketball world.

Rumour has it David Falk was the one who taught Bouna his skill. Famous superagent David Falk is best known for having worked with sports legend Michael Jordan throughout his entire career.

Aside from Jordan, Falk has represented over 100 other NBA players and is widely regarded as the most influential player agent in NBA history. Ndiaye stands out for his ability to learn from the best, which demonstrates why he is the ideal agent for the Frenchman.

The most notable contract Bouna Ndiaye negotiated was for Rudy Gobert, a French professional basketball player who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA.

Bouna achieved a lot by securing a guaranteed $158,344,829 for the French international. Ndiaye will try to get Wembanyama a good deal as well.

Ndiaye working with Victor since the first day he met him just shows how exquisite Victor’s talent is and with a super agent like Bouna things couldn’t get even better.

As the 2023 NBA Draft gets closer, June 22, 2023, will see Wemby find a new team where Bouna, who was there since day one will see him through with his commercial acumen.
