London’s already buzzing with bike-sharing options, and the scene is about to get even more exciting. Voi Technology, known for its e-scooters, is expanding its fleet to include e-bikes, joining existing operators like Santander Cycles (formerly Boris Bikes) and Lime. The Swedish company recently announced that it is in talks with councils to make this happen. Voi, which already operates e-bikes across several cities in the UK plans to post a fleet of 20,000 e-bikes across London streets.

Why e-bikes? E-bikes offer a fantastic middle ground between walking and traditional cycling. With a little electric boost, you can tackle hills, cover longer distances, and arrive at your destination feeling refreshed. Plus, they’re a great way to reduce your carbon footprint and contribute to a cleaner environment. To rent one in the city, one has to be 18 years old and have a UK driving license.

So, when can you hop on? While hasn’t announced an exact launch date, we can expect to see these new e-bikes on London’s streets soon once legal agreements with the councils are signed. Keep an eye out for updates.
