Two grandmothers, Sandra Hazelip and Eleanor Hamby are a pair of best friends who have proved that adventure does not have an age limit. The grandmas went on a trip to visit all 8 world wonders for their birthdays. They travelled to all seven continents to complete their bucket list trip. According to CNN, who documented their entire trip, their journey inspired others to pursue their own travel dreams.

Sandra and Eleanor decided to celebrate their 80th birthdays in a unique way by embarking on a trip of a lifetime. Their journey took them to all seven continents and included visits to eight world wonders. Their adventure was not only a personal achievement but also an inspiration to others. The video showcasing the trip captures the enthusiasm and joy experienced by the grandmas as they explore new cultures and experiences. 

Starting off their journey on January 11, Ellie Hamby, a documentary photographer, and Sandy Hazelip, a physician and lecturer, toured the world in 80 days, adventuring from the beaches of Bali to the deserts of Egypt. Their first stop was a location that eludes even many seasoned travelers: Antarctica. 

Since that first venture, the pair have visited 18 countries across all seven continents, often while dressed in matching T-shirts. They鈥檝e also accrued a loving social media following who track the 鈥渢ravelling grannies鈥� on TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook.

While the grandma鈥檚 trip is a reminder that travel is not just about ticking off destinations on a list, It also serves as a reminder about immersing yourself in new experiences, meeting new people, and discovering different perspectives. Many older adults may feel that travel is beyond their reach, but the grandmothers鈥� adventure proves that age should not be a barrier to exploring the world.

Sandra Hazelip described 81 as the perfect age to embark on their trip. 鈥淕etting older does give you a little bit of wisdom in making decisions,鈥� she said. 鈥淎nd so that鈥檚 the fun part. I think at this age I appreciate so much of the beauty and I can really just soak it in. And for me, this was the perfect age to go. I鈥檓 so thankful.鈥�

Although Hamby and Hazelip have finished their worldly quest and returned home to Texas, the two are already planning for their next trip, they told CNN.
