Get ready to turn up for a good time at the  Notting Hill Carnival! This iconic London festival is happening this weekend, starting on Sunday, August 25th. The streets are about to light up with a  dazzling display of colorful floats, flamboyant costumes, and music, so here is what you need to know:

When does it start?

The parade will begin at 10 am on both Sunday and Monday, starting near Westbourne Park tube station. Unfortunately, the traditional 6 am Sunday parade, commonly known as J’Ouvert will not be happening this year.

Routes?

Note that Sunday is family day, while Monday is adults’ parade day. The official routes have not been announced yet, but they typically follow Westbourne Park Road, Cheapstow Road, Westbourne Grove, and Ladbroke Grove.

What can you expect?

Enjoy live music and performances throughout the weekend at the official stages and soundsystems. Some of the highlights include the Red Bull Selectors stage on Sunday, featuring Lil Silva and Shy One, and the Strawberries & Creem stage on Monday, hosting DJs like Kenny Allstar and Rachel Anson. This will be at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park.
