There is an imminent taxi driver demonstration planned to happen in Rome on May 21, 2024, as a result of the stalled talks between the unions and the government. The trade unions have confirmed that the attempts to resolve the pending issues in the transport sector were unsuccessful as they look for a faster way to get a solution.
The strike is staged to happen in Rome and across the whole country as taxi drivers, backed by the major taxi driver trade unions in the city vow to take it to the streets to make sure their issues are resolved. The cab drivers are majorly complaining about the regulation of digital platforms.
