The Republic Day of Festa della Repubblica is significant in Roman and Italian history, as people celebrate the day when the country became a republic. The celebrations will be held on Sunday, June 2, to mark exactly seventy-eight years since the Italians voted against monarchy and established a republic. The celebration will be held in Rome to remember the 1946 referendum that freed the nation from a single-family regime. This is a celebration for all men and women living in Italy, as well as visitors who want to know more about the history of Rome.

The celebrations will begin in the morning with the president laying the wreaths as a symbol of honor and respect to the men and women who died while protecting Rome and Italy. After this somber moment, the event transitions into a lively performance by the military.

This is the chance to witness the highly trained aerobatic team known as Frecce Tricolori as they soar high in the sky. These men will leave a trail of red, white, and green smoke in the sky, forming the flag of Italy.

In addition to the celebration, buildings in the eternal city will be draped in the national color and all attention will be on the ceremony. This being a holiday, public places will be closed throughout the day to give people time to be a part of the ceremony.

Visitors alike will be welcome to engage with the locals during the celebrations as they know more about Rome and Italy as a whole.
