London is vast, and so is its share of fantastic streets. While each of these has its unique charm and prestige, some rank quite high when it comes to preference. If you’re looking for a street to live on, the just recently released a list of the 30 best streets in the UK. Three of these are right here in the capital.

To meet the criteria for ‘best street’, several factors such as house prices, green spaces and local reports on happiness were considered. The Daily Mail also sought insight from estate agents and property experts. These are the three London streets that made the list:

Elm Grove Road, Barnes: This leafy street takes the runner-up spot nationally, with an average house price of £2,225,000. This community-oriented area boasts a strong sense of belonging, with residents even having a dedicated WhatsApp group for organizing street parties and hedgehog protection!

Bywater Street, Chelsea: Known for its vibrant colored houses, Bywater Street is another London contender. This charming Chelsea location offers a village-like feel within the city, but with a price tag to match – houses average a cool £2,250,000. For book lovers, Bywater Street holds a literary connection as the former home of John le Carré’s iconic spy, George Smiley. Properties here are rarely advertised publicly, selling “under the radar” according to the Daily Mail.

Copse Hill, Wimbledon: This prestigious Wimbledon location offers a retreat for those seeking a detached home. However, this luxury comes at a cost – the average house price reaches a whopping £2,605,000.

At the top of the list is Mayals Road in Swansea with an average house price of £ 404, 000. Moray Place in Edinburgh comes in at third place, known for its outstanding Georgian architecture.
