As spring progresses, the promise of summer in Prague draws nearer. For Praguers and Czechs across the country, the warm weather urges them to drink beer outdoors. Whether raising a glass in beer gardens or at festivals, the season has plenty of activities to look forward to until the end of summer.

April kicked off with the Prague Beer Fest, which happened on April 12 and 13 at Holešovice Market Hall. The Baden Baden Štvanice opens its summer 2024 season on Friday, April 19. Visitors can expect live DJs and grilled food treats as they unwind on the beach chairs. Guests are also welcome to bring a picnic blanket if they wish to.

Save yourself pub crawling with the Prague beer run happening on April 20 at Ladronka Park. Organized by RUN4Beer, the event starts at 3:30 p.m. Participants will take part in a 4.6-kilometer route with several pit stops along the way offering small beers. The finish line will be crowned with a large beer reward. Prepare for a vibrant ambiance full of music and warm-up sessions. There will also be prizes and medals for the winners of the competition.

The Festival of Monastery Breweries comes on April 27 at the Břevnov Monastery Brewery. With free entry, visitors can sample Poutní beer prepared by more than five Czech monastery breweries in collaboration with Plzeňské Prazdroj.

Indulge in extensive beer varieties from May 31 to June 1, in the Žižkov Beer Festival at Parukářka Park. Visitors will be spoilt for choice with lagers, light and dark specials. There will also be filtered, unfiltered, and top-fermented brews to try. Beyond beer, participants will be treated to other specials including beer ice cream, fries, burgers, and grilled varietals. There will also be children’s activities for a family-friendly event. Entry is free.

Enjoy bottomless beer tasting at the Mini-Brewery Festival on June 7 and 8, at the Royal Gardens of the Prague Castle. Guests will have the chance to explore the diversity of regional brews from Czech, Moravian, and Slovak breweries complemented by the backdrop of the castle.

Still, in June, beer lovers can head to the Beer Festival at Náplavka, on June 14 and 15. The festival will see over 50 small Czech breweries grace the occasion along the Rašínovo embankment. Live music and food delights will be part of the celebrations.

Moving to September, The Nomad Beer Festival will be hosted on September 6 and 7 at the Holešovice Market. Visitors will enjoy free entry, and different flavors from various breweries amidst a lively atmosphere.

Besides festivals, beer lovers can quench their thirst in the many beer gardens across Prague. For example, the Na Hradbách beer garden nestled in the Vyšehrad fortress prides itself on stunning views of Prague beyond the beer. Letná Beer Garden in Prague 7 adds a tranquil ambiance and exceptional views to your beer glass. Look out for new beer pop-ups throughout the city for more discoveries.
