The Lagos Motor Boat Club is a member-only boat club founded on the 23rd of January, 1950. It is recognized as one of the most prestigious Clubs in Nigeria.

Following several renovations and upgrades, it proudly possesses certain world-class features such as a mermaid water bar, round bar, restaurant, and two hundred standard motorboats.

Sundays are busy days at the club as members mount motorboats to private beach huts next to creeks beyond the clubhouse.

Over the years, Lagos Motor club has broken records recognized by The International Game Fishing Association (IGFA).

The club is reserved for members, with an entrance fee of N800,000 and an annual subscription of N450,000.

Different membership categories include reciprocal, honorary, overseas, up-country, corporate, and founder members.

A sole owner shall include a person who has exclusive use of a boat owned by his employer or company.

He or she can produce a letter acceptable to the committee confirming this, provided that where the boat is in the ownership of either the employer or the company.

The privileges of membership and use of the club shall not extend to the employer, the company, or any other employees of the company.

The Tarpon Club has established for fishermen and the leisure boating activity grew over the years to the extent that the original objectives of the Tarpon Club were being compromised.

The original Premises and jetty were at the Western side of the present site. Wooden jetties were in position.

The Club continued to flourish to the extent that additional land on the Eastern side of the present property was acquired.

The Tarpon Club eventually disbanded and became the fishing section of the Lagos Motor Boat Club.

Regular sponsored tournaments are held during the fishing season. Our deep-sea sports fishermen sail twenty to thirty miles offshore hoping to catch all species of fish.
