Zeba Bakhtiar was born on November date 5, 1962.  A Pakistani film/TV actress and also a television director. She is well known for her TV drama Anarkali which she acted in 1998. she got famous for her TV drama Anarkali , the Bollywood romantic drama and the Lollywood movie, Sargam.

She produced and directed the movie Babu in the year 2001. Zeba also won the best actress Nigar Award for the movie Sargam in the year 1995.

1. Zeba Bakhtiar has been Married Four Times

She has been in 4 different marriages. Zeba’s first husband was Salman Galliani whom they met and married in the year 1982. In 1989 ,she was married to Javed however he denied the claims as rumours.

Javed later produced Nikah Nama which forced the two to divorce a year later. In the year 1993, she start an open relationship which later led to her marriage to singer and music composer Adnan Sami.

But in the year 1997 Zeba and Adnan got divorced, but they had a son named Azaan Sami Khan. She later married Sohail Khan Leghar.

2. She is Daughter to a Lawyer and Pre-independence Muslim Activist

Zeba’s father was a lawyer, politician and pre-independence Muslim League activist. He served as the Attorney General of Pakistan. Her father also contributed more to framing Pakistan’s current constitution.

Her father died in the year 2003 while her mother died in 2011. The parents met in the UK in the year 1940 and married, but her mother settled in Pakistan in 1949 after graduating from the University College London.

She has three siblings, two brothers and one sister. Her two brothers Salim and Karim are doctors by profession and a sister, Saira.

3. Zeba made Her First Tv Debut in a Television Play in 1988

She made her debut with a Pakistan Tv drama, Anarkali in the year 1988. Her role in this drama was highly and widely appreciated. Later, she signed a Bollywood movie Henna in the year 1991 which was under the direction of Randhir Kapoor.

She worked in more Bollywood movies such as Mohabbat Ki Arzoo in the year 1994. The Stuntman in the year 1994 and Jai Vikraanta in the year 1995.

She came back to Pakistan because her career didn’t work out well in Bollywood. Started working in Syed Noor in the year 1995. Zeba Bakhtiar appeared in popular Television dramas like Tansan, Laag, and Pehli see Mohabbat.

4. Zeba Bakhtiar was Diagnosed with Diabetes

She was diagnosed with diabetes before her second marriage. Zeba started participating in diabetes awareness campaigns on different forums. 

To educate and try to reach more people with diabetes. Apart from participating in diabetes campaigns, Zeba  is involved in women’s association football in Pakistan.

5. Her Father was Elected First in Parliament in 1977

Zeba’s father was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from the Quetta-Pishin constituency in 1977. Her father was appointed to the Senate of Pakistan. Later, when Benazir Bhutto became prime minister of Pakistan,  he  was appointed as the Attorney General of Pakistan in 1988.

Her father also represented Nawaz Sharif when he appeared in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. This after the then-president of Pakistan president Ghulam Ishaq Khan decided to dissolve the National Assembly.

6. She is the Chairwoman of Diya Women Football Club

Zeba Bakhtiar leads as the Chairwoman of Pakistan’s oldest women’s football club. It was started in the year 2002 and which have no affiliations to any men’s club. In the year 2006, the Diya Women’s football club was recognized by the Pakistan Football Federation and from the year 2010. 

It became a permanent member of the Pakistan Football Federation committee which had 29 members. Diya Women Football Club signed an agreement with Aspirations Pakistan Football Alliance (APFA). The first Pakistan women club to sign the agreement.

7. She Won the Best Actress Sargam in 1995 Nigar Awards

In the year 1995 during the Nigar Awards, Zeba Bakhtiar won the best actress in the Sargam drama. The awards were presented annually to show and recognize the most outstanding achievement in Pakistani cinema. Nigar Magazine which was founded in the year 1948 awards honours to the winners.

8. Zeba Bakhtiar was Nominated for Best Actress in Henna Drama in 1992

In the year 1992, the 37th Film fare Awards nominated her as the Best Actress -in Henna drama. However large an Indian musical romantic drama topped the ceremony with 13 nominations.

Followed by Saajan with 11 nominations. Saudagar closely followed with 9 nominations. zeba’s Henna followed with 8 nominations and Hum with 7 nominations.

In the year 1992, the Film Fare Award for Best Female Debut was early known as the Film fare Award for Lux New Face of the Year.  Nominated her as the best female debut. This award was given to recognise the best performances by female actors in their debut roles.

10. Zeba Bakhtiar Produced a Spy Thriller Film

It is a 2014 spy thriller film from Pakistan which was directed by Jami, and Summer Nick. The film was produced by Zeba Bakhtiar together with  Azaan Sami Khan.

The film became the first spy action thriller movie with its origin. It was produced by One Motion Pictures which was based on a screenplay. She was the film’s executive producer.

Zeba  is a role model to many actresses across the whole of  Pakistan and the world at large for her successful career in acting. She has motivated more upcoming artists by encouraging them.
