He is the producer of films like “Chandni Bar”, “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham”, “Guru” and “Dhoom 2”. His films have garnered him various accolades and nominations. He has been awarded the Padma Shri in 2007 and the Padma Bhushan in 2013. He has also been nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor three times.

Since his 1977 debut, Suresh has been in over 150 films and movies. He achieved his life鈥檚 first award for the film “Mirch Masala” in 1987 at the National Film Award for “Best Supporting Actor Role”, and was also nominated for the “Best Supporting Actor Award” in the same film.

In 1981, then he received the opportunity to act Laawaris which tribute to every type of wife, fat, tall, short, dark, or fair-skinned as a celebration of the sanctity and beauty of women. Suresh is an active and outdoors soul. As a child, he was active in sports tennis,s and swimming, where he emerged as the champion at a contest as a child.

He now enjoys skimming newspapers when he is at home, watching movies together with his family, and busy penning philosophic and romantic poetry.

Suresh also appreciates long drives and being a car collector. This is evident in his car collection of a Mercedes Suv, which was gifted by his son Vivek Oberoi and friend, Mahindra.

His father owned an open-top Opel car when he was a young boy, sparking his interest in automobile collection. Suresh’s talent and a keen interest in acting unlocked new opportunities for him in radio shows and stage plays which prompted him to attend the Film and Television Institute in Pune, India.

10. Suresh was diagnosed with Cancer in 2001

Suresh Oberoi was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. He had to go through chemotherapy and radiation treatment, which left him completely voiceless.

Suresh lost his voice because of the treatment and had to learn sign language. However, he didn鈥檛 let the adversity stop him from continuing to work. Suresh has played the roles of a deaf and dumb person many times in his career. He also played the role of a person with a speech disability in his film 鈥淕anga Gowri鈥�.

He has won several awards and accolades for his role in the film. He has also played the role of a person with a speech disability in other films such as 鈥淜hilaaf-E-Ummat鈥�, 鈥淒il Juunga鈥� and 鈥淒il E Nadan鈥�.
