The Best Saunas in Paris

Rest assured, the French get pretty creative when winter sets in and one needs to find different ways of keeping warm. There鈥檚 nothing quite like a good sauna session, and this popular pastime is on offer across the city, with different facilities to meet individual needs.

Here are the best sauna experiences in Paris, in no particular order:

IDM Sauna in Paris

There鈥檚 got to be a good reason why the general public goes crazy over this particular Parisian sauna, so I had to go check it out for myself. It鈥檚 easy to see the appeal.

The sauna itself is incredibly spacious, and there is freedom to move from one side of the space to the other as you wish. Naturally no clothing is required, and the sauna room is filled with vintage-looking furniture that creates quite the ambiance.

This is one of the only saunas in Paris to give multiple towels to each guest upon arrival.

Medina Hammam Center in Paris

In general, I prefer hammams when it comes to finding the best saunas in Paris. They tend to be oasis type spaces with more high-end facilities, and this one in the far southeast of the city is no different.

The Medina is a place where relaxation meets restoration. There is a full scale sauna up for use, as well as a pool and steam room that guests can use at their leisure. The Moroccan aesthetic really adds to the whole experience, and Moroccan tea and treats are served throughout your visit.

Hammam Pacha in Paris

Hammam Pacha is one of the only hammam鈥檚 in Paris that Ive found to be open seven days a week. This is helpful for full-time workers who want to enjoy a relaxing sauna or steam room on their day off.

The facilities are clean and beautifully curated. You can choose from a ton of additional treatments to preceded your sauna sit, including different body scrubs and detox regimes.

One thing I will mention is that Hammam Pacha tends to get quite crowded around lunchtime on weekdays. The central location of this spot makes it a go-to for nine to fivers who don鈥檛 want to spend their lunch break making small talk with colleagues 鈥 can鈥檛 blame 鈥榚m!

OPENING HOURS: MONDAY TO SUNDAY 鈥 11am to 7pm

METRO STATION: Duroc

L’Eclipse in Paris

What a wonderful spot for a more social sauna experience! L鈥橢clipse is one of Paris鈥 most notable sauna experiences, with the addition of steam rooms and play rooms on site as well.

The staff are welcoming and will explain how everything works, and how you can go about ordering drinks throughout your sit. It鈥檚 both a relaxing and 鈥渃ool鈥 environment, ironically. Cool in the senses that this seems to be where like-minded people gather and enjoy one another鈥檚 company as they sweat out toxins in unison.

While the official closing time for L鈥橢clipse is 2am daily, they do start to shut down the sauna around 1:30am, so plan to start making your way out around this time.

Les Vapeurs d’Orient in Paris

This is another elegant spa with a sauna that attracts people from far and wide. Truth be told, this is perhaps the most aesthetically magical spot, and entering feels a lot like teleportation to the depths of ancient Turkey or the Middle East.

by Denny M眉ller –

Basic entrance is 鈧25, and it gets you flip-flops, a futah, two towels and access to all of the enclosed facilities. The resting room is where one can go to lay down between sweats or swims, and you can order a range of Moroccan beverages and pastries.

I can鈥檛 recommend this sauna experience enough. Make a point of trying it at least once while in Paris!

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
OPENING HOURS: Thursday TO Tuesday 鈥 1pm to 10pm
