Gabriel Fernando de Jesus is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League Club Arsenal and the Brazil national team.

In the year 2016 Gabriel won the Bola de Ouro helping Palmeiras win their first national league title in 22 years.

Furthermore, in 2017 he signed with the English club Manchester club in a transfer worth 27 million euros and won four Premiere league titles, the FA Cup, and three EFL cups.

In January 2017 Gabriel signed a contract with English club Manchester City and the contract was to go until the summer of 2021.

Manchester City paid a reported fee of 27 million euros to 33 million euros plus an add-on when purchasing him.

The transfer was fully completed on 19th January 2017. Furthermore, Gabriel has established himself as one of the leading strikers in the premier league in recent seasons under the club.

He scored 95 goals in 236 appearances in all competitions during his five seasons in Manchester.

Like many from the region in Brazil Gabriel grew up educating himself about football on the streets. Still, once he was noticed by amateur club Anhanguera his career was kick-started.

However, he joined the youth setup at Brazilian giants Palmeiras in 2013.

However, Bruno Petri, his youth coach said: 鈥He is a boy who is easy to speak with and work with and who is different from the others in training, always giving more than 100 percent鈥.

He began his football journey in an unusual setting on the grounds of the north Sao Paulo military prison.

However, it was on the dirt pitches used by junior club Pequeninos do Meio Ambiente where Gabriel would begin his football journey.

He admitted he would leave home at 5 am to walk four miles to training in flip-flops because he couldn鈥檛 afford the bus fare. Interestingly he did this between the ages of eight to fourteen.

Even with his incredible commitment to being a professional footballer Gabriel also kept up with his studies.
