Roppongi Hills is located in the Roppongi district of Minato, Tokyo. It is one of the largest property developments in Japan.

The name Roppongi means the six trees. It was named after the six trees which were very old and large and were used to mark the area.

Vendors are also part of this beautiful event whereby they sell summer foods. An outdoor beer garden at Mori garden also takes place during the season.

Roppongi Hills also conduct a separate summer event which is known as the Roppongi Hills Bon Odori.

This is a traditional dance that invites the dead back to earth. The women lead the crowd in learning and dancing.

This event also includes food stalls selling popular festival dishes, for example, fried Takoyaki and fresh squid.

TV Asahi is famous for its characters like Doraemon and every year Roppongi hills hold a Doraemon statue event.

Over 50 Doraemon are decorated in clusters in different outfits and expressions. They hold special interactive events outside for the general public.

TV Asahi also has a souvenir store where people buy gifts related to TV Asahi’s popular characters and shows. They also have a cafe featuring TV Asahi’s mascot and panda character Go-Chan.

6. Criticism and Conflict in Roppongi Hills

Since the development of the Roppongi hills, there are some criticism and conflict that have been raised by the former residents.

The building is said to be suffering from noise. The noise is said to be from the top of an embankment opposite the Arena.

Residents claim that they are usually being forced to vacate the residential places in Roppongi hills due to noise pollution.

The Roppongi hills development was criticized by the Japan news aggregator Henry Hilton. He argued that people are likely not to go back due to exhaustion of the walkways if are they not well conversant with the place.

Roppongi hills Gate Tower Residence is located at the Azabu-juban entrance to Roppongi Hills. The first two floors of the Gate Tower are shops, floors three to nine are offices and  10 to 15 floors are apartments.
