1. Idi Amin

He was a politician and the third president of Uganda. His leadership ran from 1971 to 1979. His rule was filled with human rights abuse, political repression, ethnic persecution, extrajudicial killings, nepotism, corruption, and gross economic mismanagement.
 
The killings were so rampant that international observers estimated that the total killings during his regime were 100,000 to 500,000. Idi Amin’s alliance was wishy-washy, he kept shifting from pro-western to Israel’s support, Libya’s support associating with the leader Gaddafi
 
Furthermore, he built links with the Soviet Union and East Germany. Thus contributing to Britain breaking its alliance with Uganda. Amin’s reign ended with a coup led by the current president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni. He was born in 1925 and died in 2001.

Yoweri Museveni is a politician and the current president of Uganda. He has been in power since the 29th of January 1986. This makes him one of the longest-serving presidents in Africa. He came into force by overthrowing the then president Idi Amin in 1979 and also the Milton Obote regime in 1985.
 
His over thirty years of rule have brought a lot of stability and economic growth to Uganda. Before Museveni took over, Uganda had suffered a lot of government mismanagement. So his taking of power was a breath of fresh air to the country.
 
Museveni’s other notable highlight is that under his leadership, Uganda saw one of the most effective national responses to HIV/AIDS in Africa. Yet, his quest for power has led him to remove presidential term limits. 
 
Over and above that, the media censor approach has attracted mixed reactions in both the local and international spheres. Hence it brought so much tension, especially with the realization of the succession plan by Muhoozi Kainerugaba. 

3. Milton Obote 

Milton Obote was a socialist political leader. He led Uganda to Independence in the year 1962 from the British colonial administration. After independence, he served as Uganda’s prime mister from 1962-1966.
 
Further, he became Uganda’s president from the year 1966-1971. In January 1971, he was overthrown by Idi Amin but later regained power from Amin in 1979. His second rule saw a lot of civilian deaths due to civilian unrest which was known as the Ugandan Bush War. 

4. Savio Nsereko 

Nsereko is a midfielder and goes by the name Savio among his fans. He is a Ugandan-born German footballer. He is in recent times a free agent. He is known for his skills playing as a striker and winger where he tends to play on the left wing for defense and shoots with his right foot.

Lwanga was a Ugandan Martyr.He converted to the Catholic Church’s beliefs and was martyred for his faith. He was later elevated as a saint by both the Catholic Church and the Anglican Communion.

Stephen is an Olympic athlete. He is a Ugandan long-distance runner who was born in Kapchorwa District. He won the 2012 Olympic champion marathon with a winning time of 2:08:01.
 
Kiprotich’s win was Uganda’s first Olympic Medal since 1996 and his first gold medal since 1972. Subsequently, winning in the Moscow IAAF championship marathon made him the reigning world and Olympic marathon champion. 

7. Juliana Kanyomozi

She is a female musician popularly known as Juliana. In addition to singing, she also does acting. She was born on 27th November 1981. Kanyomozi is the best female entertainer in Uganda. 

8.Mutesa II Of Buganda 

Mutesa II of Buganda was a Monarch. He was also called Major General Sir Edward Frederick Mutesa II. He was Kabaka of the Kingdom of Buganda from 22 November 1939 until his death. This made him the thirty-fifth Kabaka of Buganda as well as the first President of Uganda. He was widely known as King Freddi.

He is a social activist. He was a Ugandan teacher and LGBT rights activist. He is esteemed as the father of the Uganda gay rights movement. He openly described himself as the first gay man in his country.
 
He served as an advocacy officer for Sexual Minorities Uganda. He lost his life in January 2011. His death was a mystery because it occurred after winning a lawsuit against a magazine that had published his name and photograph identifying him as gay and calling for him to be executed.

He held the position of Party President for the Forum for Democratic Change political party and ran for president of Uganda in 2001, 2006, and 2011, however, he was defeated by Yoweri Museveni, who has been the country’s president since January 26, 1986, in each of those elections.

When the 2006 election results were challenged in court, the judge found widespread rigging and fraud. He allowed the FDC to have an early internal election for the position of Party President on November 24, 2012. He made the decision that, in order to give the new PP adequate time to prepare, the replacement PP should ideally be in place earlier than anticipated.

On May 12, 1980, Godfrey Binaisa was overthrown in a coup led by Muwanga, Yoweri Museveni, Oyite Ojok, and Tito Okello. He was prime minister during the period of August 1 to August 25, 1980. After the elections on December 10, 1980, Milton Obote’s Uganda Peoples Congress was named the winner by Muwanga, who also assumed control of the electoral commission.
