Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. is an American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Brady is regarded as the greatest quarterback of all time.

Brady was born on 3rd August 1977 in San Mateo, California. He is the only son and fourth child of Thomas Brady Sr. and his wife Galynn Patricia (²Ôé±ð Johnson). He has three older sisters, Nancy, Julie, and Maureen. As a child, Brady attended football camp at the College of San Mateo, where he learned how to throw the football.

Brady went to Junípero Serra High School in San Mateo, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was a great baseball player, a left-handed-batting catcher with power. Major League Baseball scouts drafted him in 1995 but his interest was in football.

After graduating high school in 1995, he went on to play college football at the University of Michigan until 1999 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies.

In 2000 Brady was drafted by the New England Patriots, a professional American football team based in Boston. He was with the Patriots till 2019. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a team based in Tampa, Florida drafted him in 2020.

Brady has been Super Bowl Champion 7 times, the most for any individual player in history. Another record is being Super Bowl’s Most Valuable Player 5 times. He has also been named 3 times as National Football League’s Most Valuable Player.

1. Tom is a Father of Three

Tom Brady married Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen on 26 February 2009. The couple has two children Benjamin Rein born in December 2009 and Vivian Lake born in December 2012

Brady’s former girlfriend Bridget Moynahan was pregnant with Tom Brady’s child when they split up in 2006. She gave birth to a son, John Edward Thomas in August 2007.

Tom and Gisele ended their union and their divorce was finalized in October 2022. They were married for close to 14 years.

2. The Brady Family Loves Sports

Before Tom Brady became famous, he was known only for his siblings, with people calling him ‘the little Brady’ or ‘Maureen’s little brother’. As a young man, he wrote a paper promising that he would be a household name and that his sisters would instead be known as ‘Tom Brady’s sisters.’

Brady’s siblings earned scholarships to college. His sister Maureen went to Fresno State on a softball scholarship, while his sister Julie was recruited to the St. Mary’s soccer team then later earned a scholarship. Nancy too was eligible for a softball scholarship to the University of California – Berkeley but she followed a different path.

Julie later got married to MLB player Kevin Youkilis. Brady’s niece Maya Brady – who is Maureen’s daughter – is a college softball player for the UCLA Bruins.

Junípero Serra High School named their football stadium Brady Family Stadium. This family loves sports. 

3. He is Catholic

Tom Brady was raised catholic. A few years ago, he said he was more spiritual than he is religious. He stated, “I don’t know what I believe. I think there’s a belief system, I’m just not sure what it is.’’

 4. Same Shoulder Pads Since 1995

One of Brady’s interesting facts is that he has had one pair of shoulder pads throughout the years. He has worn these pads since 1995. They have been reconditioned over the years, but Brady has pretty much worn the same shoulder pads he had on in his Michigan debut in 1995.

5. Brady Played Golf When He Was Young

While growing up, Tom used to play golf with his father. Many people know how good he was at baseball and football while in high school but most do not know about golf. His family had a ratio of four ladies to two men and so the boys were outnumbered.

Because of this reason, his dad began taking him to a private men’s club in nearby San Francisco where they could have a little boy time and play golf. They would arrive at the course as early as 6:30 A.M. on Sundays, play a few rounds then head back home in time to go to church by 11. He became quite a capable golfer by the age of ten.

6. He Trains Different From Other Athletes

Most football players and players of other sports normally go the traditional weight training way to prepare for the games. Brady on the other hand opts for resistance bands to increase pliability and flexibility. He believes long, soft muscles lead to peak performance.

7. Strict Diet and Discipline

Tom Brady and his family adhere to a strict diet known as the “TB12 Method”. He follows the 80/20 rule whereby one consumes 80% alkaline components and 20% acidic components. His diet also varies from season to season, he eats meals like red meat in the winter and mostly raw foods in the summer.

Although his diet is mostly vegan, he adds lean meats during the year’s cold months. Not all fruits and vegetables are allowed in his diet. He avoids most fruits, mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, coffee, Gatorade, white sugar, flour, gluten, dairy, soda, cereal, white rice, potatoes, and bread.

He enjoys avocado ice cream as a treat.

8. Has a Vegan Snacks Business

Brady launched his peak performance website TB12Sports.com. It featured information on his diet and training regimen. The TB12 brand then expanded to offer a snack line. These snacks contain raw, vegan, and organic ingredients that are also free of gluten and dairy.

He has gone beyond his snack line and now offers TB12 Performance Meals. The meals utilize whole foods and focus on providing nutrients for workout recovery.

9. He Sleeps Early

Brady goes to bed at 9 pm and wakes up at 6 am. This gives him a total of 9 hours of rest each night. Consistency is key so he always turns off the T.V. and other electronic devices 30 minutes before laying down. Getting enough rest every night helps him to be more productive the next day.

10. Paperboy Was His First Job

When Brady was a child, he worked as a paperboy. He relied on the help of his mum and the family van. Every day, he piled the newspapers in the van and his mum would drive along the newspaper route as he threw them out through the van’s side door.
