Beyoncé Giselle Knowles is an American singer, songwriter, performer and sometimes actress born in 1981, September 4th. She achieved fame in the late 1900s as the lead singer of an r&b group destiny’s child and later launched a solo career which became very successful leading to her becoming a cultural icon and earning the nickname “Queen Bey”.

Often referred to as “the first lady of music”, Beyoncé has come to create a legacy that is unparalleled. With 20 record tiles to her name, her music consistently challenges and pushes boundaries, redefining music history in the process and making her a mega pop star and one of the best performers of the generation.

She is well known for putting forth work that promotes female empowerment, she focuses on feminine issues through telling stories from a woman’s perspective and her powerful lyrics are known to encourage and invite women to celebrate and embrace their divine femininity.

The way some of her songs speak to women is very encouraging and inspirational as she speaks of women’s freedom and how they can accomplish anything they set their minds to regardless of the obstacles put in place by the rather patriarchal society. Some of these songs include who run the world, freedom, single ladies and so many more iconic releases.

Beyoncé has an unmatched attention to detail, God-given talent and undeniable genius that is like no other in the music industry. Every project of hers has an unrivaled levels of quality, album after album, they all seem to cause an uproar in the public with how much everyone just recognizes her gift, technique and authenticity. She is what you would call a gift that keeps on giving.

In 2017, Beyoncé with the help of her father and former band member Kelly Rowland, founded her The Survivor Foundation, an aid response program she used to help needy families get back on their feet after facing a disaster. Specifically, during hurricane Katrina, she helped provide relief by raising donations, delivering meals to local food banks, buying feminine products, wheelchairs and blankets for the displaced.

She has also in the past collaborated with several anti-hunger foundations such as the Houston food bank, feeding America and the global food banking.

It is well known that the queen worked very hard in her formative years to be able to perform like she does now so effortlessly and with so much ease. In her documentary homecoming it is shown that she was running miles in heels as a kid while singing, spending all day every day in the studio practicing and perfecting her art all the while consistently working out to stay healthy and in shape. It cannot have been easy and while we can very much see the results now, you cannot help but admire such a person, with so much intention and dedication for her work.

In 2001, Miss Knowles made her acting debut in the television movie carmen which aired on MTV. She has since starred in multiple films such as the Pink Panther (2006), Obsessed (2009) and The Lion King which did very well and had some of her songs featured in the soundtrack. She has made an appearance in many more productions which is inarguably rather commendable. She really can do it all.

Now we know the general public cannot share a unanimous opinion on anything, and therefore in as much as the majority of the world loves and adores Beyoncé, there are certain people who would try to dim her shine. In lieu of this, Beyoncé has perfected the art of setting herself apart from all the drama involved in showbiz.
