10 Things To Know About The Man Who Murdered Jeffrey Dahmer


 

Christopher J. Scarver Sr. is the person who murdered Jeffrey Dahmer, a fellow convict. He is convicted of triple-murders. Christopher is best known for the murders of his fellow inmates Jeffrey Dahmer who was a serial killer and Jesse Anderson, a murderer.

They were all convicted at the Columbia Correctional Institution where Christopher committed the killings in 1994. Christopher is the second born of five children. He was raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he attended James Madison High school.

Christopher dropped out of school in the eleventh grade. He became an addict to alcohol and marijuana before his mother kicked him out of her home. He was employed as a carpenter trainee at the Wisconsin Conservation Corps job program (WCCJP) but lost his position after his supervisor was dismissed.

Losing his job made him revert to drinking heavily and later diagnosed with schizophrenia. Christopher was later sentenced to life in prison in 1992 after killing Lohman while demanding money from the site manager of the Wisconsin Conservation Corps. Two years later while in prison, he murdered serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer using a piece of equipment he had obtained from the gym prison.

1. Christopher Scarver Dropped Out of School and was Chased from Home for Alcoholism

Christopher attended school at James Madison High school, however, he never completed school. He dropped from school in the eleventh grade.

After dropping out of school, Christopher began taking alcohol and marijuana which he got addicted to. These addictions never impressed his mother who decided to kick him out of the house.

2. He was Diagnosed with Schizophrenia and Suffered from Messianic Delusions

After being kicked out of his mother鈥檚 home, Christopher was taken in as a carpenter trainee by Edward Patts, the supervisor of the Wisconsin Conservation Corps job program. Upon completing his training program, Patts was dismissed which affected Christopher’s chances of being taken in full-time.

Christopher was left devastated and he became a heavy drinker. During his drinking sprees, he began hearing voices calling the 鈥渃hosen one鈥. This worried those close to him, as he was later diagnosed with schizophrenia, and had been suffering from messianic delusions.

3. Scarver Murdered his First Victim while Demanding Money from WCCJP Site Manager

On 1st June 1990, Christopher returned to WCCJP offices where he found the site manager, John Feven, and Steve Lohman, an employee. He forced Steve to go down at gunpoint as he demanded money from the site manager. At first, he was given US$15 which made him furious, and shot Steve in the head.

Steve died instantly after being shot by Christopher. Christopher shot at Steve twice after the first shot as he demanded more money. John wrote a US$3,000 check and fled to his car, Christopher fired at him but the bullets missed.

Christopher was arrested and convicted in 1992. He was sentenced to life in prison which he was to spend at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.

4. Christopher had been Assigned Duties alongside Dahmer and Another Prisoner

On the morning of 28th November 1994, Christopher was assigned work detail alongside two other inmates. He had been assigned his tasks alongside Jesse Anderson, and serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The three had been given duties including cleaning the prison gymnasium toilet before things went south.

5. He Attacked Jeffrey using a Piece of Exercise Equipment First

The corrections officers left the three inmates unsupervised after assigning them their duties. Jeffrey Dahmer was in prison for his cannibalistic serial killing tactics.

Christopher Scarver made the first move as he attacked Jeffrey Dahmer using a piece of a metal bar he had obtained from a piece of equipment in the weight room. Jeffrey was left mortally wounded and died one hour after arriving at the hospital.

6. Jesse Anderson was Attacked using a Wooden Stick and Died Two Days Later

After pinning Jeffrey Dahmer down due to the attack using a metal bar, Christopher turned to Jesse Anderson. He took a wooden stick he had found at the showers and attacked Jesse mercilessly.

Christopher then returned to his cell where he informed one of the corrections officers that God had told him to do it and eliminate the two. Two days later, Jesse died after doctors removed him from life support.

7. Christopher is Believed to have Killed Jeffrey & Jesse for being White

After the deaths of Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson, there were some allegations made about why Christopher had killed them. There were beliefs that he murdered the two because they were both white.

Another belief was that he killed Dahmer because he had murdered several black males. The murder of Jesse was aggravated because he had stabbed his wife, and tried to frame two black males as perpetrators of the murder. Christopher was also quoted saying: 鈥淣othing white people do to blacks is just.鈥

8. The Assailant was Transferred to Three Prisons 5 Years after the Two Murders

After the murders of Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson, Christopher was given two more life sentences. He was transferred into the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 1995.

During this period, prison officials believed that no facility was more secure to house Christopher Scarver. He was taken to MCFP Springfield for psychiatric evaluation before being transferred to the federal supermax prison, ADX Florence in Florence Colorado.

Christopher stayed at this facility until 2000. He was later transferred to the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility which became his third home in a space of five years.

9. Scarver Argued that he was subjected to Cruel and Unusual Punishment

Christopher raised a federal civil rights suit which was against the officials of the Wisconsin Secure Program Facility in 2005. He made an argument that the officers had subjected him to cruel and unusual punishment which was against his constitutional rights.

However, a judge dismissed his argument and ruled that those actions from the officials were not unlawful. Christopher decided to appeal to the delicious in 2006, but it was not successful.

10. Christopher made a Revelation that he Spent 16 Years in Solitary Confinement

Other than his argument of being treated cruelly and given unusual punishment, Christopher had other allegations. He accused that he had to spend 16 years in solitary confinement after killing Jeffrey Dahmer and Jesse Anderson. An agent who represented Christopher revealed that he was willing to write a tell-all book about the murder of Jeffrey Dahmer in 2012.
