Review of the role of Christina Applegate in the series 鈥淒ead to Me鈥�

Christina Applegate is a successful and talented American actress born on November 25, 1971, in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The first hit piece that introduced her to the rest of the world was in the Fox sitcom Married with Children in her role as ditzy daughter, Kelly Bundy a role she portrayed for 11 years (1987鈥�1997). Her role in the sitcom is just the tip of the iceberg, she has starred in several films and in multiple Broadway theatre productions such as the 2005 revival of the musical Sweet Charity where she showed her rock-solid acting skills, she was sweet, sexy and vulnerable with a little bit of comic twist proving that her roles in married with children did not go to waste.

With leading roles in sitcoms like Jesse, 1998鈥�2000, Samantha Who? 2007鈥�2009, and the NBC comedy Up All Night, 2011鈥�2012, her career in film and television grew massively. She is also known for doing the voice of Brittany in the Alvin and the Chipmunks film series. She also played major roles in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead 1991, The Big Hit 1998, Prince Charming 2001, The Sweetest Thing 2002, Grand Theft Parsons 2003, The Legend of Ron Burgundy 2004, Hall Pass 2011, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continental 2013, Vacation 2015, Bad Moms 2016, Crash Pad 2017 and the Netflix dark tragicomedy series Dead to Me, 2019鈥�2022, which earned her three Primetime Emmy Award nominations and a Golden Globe Award nomination.

Her mother, Nancy Priddy, is a singer and actress while her father, Robert William Applegate, was a record producer and record company executive. I mean as expected their daughter was bound to get into the entertainment industry whether she liked it or not. Lucky for her she enjoyed acting and dancing ever since she was a little girl.

Unfortunately, her parent’s marriage did not last long and they got divorced after Christina was born. Her mother started a relationship with Stephen stills in 1967 and later in 1980, a renowned musician but the two are no longer together. Interestingly, the actress inspired Stephen Stills to write his song Pretty Girl Why. The two just seemed perfect but the singer never proposed to her, maybe it wasn鈥檛 meant to be. Despite the divorce, Christina was well cared for and was able to go to dancing classes where she was trained to dance styles such as jazz and ball, which stuck with her to date. She has also worked with her mother on several projects including the film The Sweetest Thing.

Of course, you can’t be an outstanding performer without anything to show for it. The actress has won an Emmy and has earned Tony and Golden Globe nominations. In addition, she attended her Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony that took place on 14th November 2022 which was supposed to happen in 2020 but, yeah, Coronavirus happened. All I could say was it’s about damn time she got one of those.

The appearance marked the Emmy her first public appearance since disclosing her multiple sclerosis diagnosis in the spring of 2021. Her MS diagnosis was first announced on Twitter in 2021 in the middle of production of the final season of her Netflix comedy Dead to Me. It is a potentially disabling disease of the central nervous system. The award-winning actress now walks with canes and she even came to the ceremony with no shoes which she joked about, talk about a dark sense of humor. Her co-star from her first hit piece Katey Sagal, held onto her as she addressed her loyal fans and family and other co-stars like David Faustino, Linda Cardellini and Liz Feldman.

Christina Applegate opened up about the early physical symptoms in her body that led to her being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis was during the first season of the Netflix dark comedy Dead To Me. She also tells New York Times that she wished she had paid attention to the symptoms when she found herself off balance. Instead, the actress pushed herself harder showing just how strong she is. Her symptoms became worse when her numbness became server. The speech was really emotional if you ask me, I mean she tired up while making her speech, which she kept short as she could not stand for too long, especially while talking about her daughter. Like any other daughter, one would want to be able to take care of their mother, I know I would.

Applegate confessed that she has had a very difficult time accepting the 40 pounds she gained after her diagnosis. She revealed that it has been challenging and a tough journey but she continues to stay strong with friends and family by her side. I am not saying that it is good that she is sick but she has helped a lot of people with MS share their experience on twitter helping create awareness on the disease. While she celebrated her birthday this November she said that it was a hard one, and indeed it was.

 Her role in the series is that of Jen Harding  which is one of her fitting character. In the show she is a realtor whose husband Ted was killed by a hit-and-run driver shortly before the start of the series. Jen goes out of her way to overcome her loss through therapy, exercise, and a support group where she meet thecharacter Judy. At first i was sceptical about how season 2 would turn out as i felt a lot was exhausted in season one but to my surprise it was really good.

The film brings out the chemeistry between Christina and her co star, Linda Cardellini. The film has a run time of around 30 minutes filled with dark comedy, drama and mystery. The acting shows that Christina does not get enough high profile acting jobs in Hollywood, which is a shame, yet she is a talented actor. Her role in brings a efreshing view on grief. I like the show as it tries to balance comedy and the tragedy. It goes without saying that the acting is equally incredible.

Enough of the teary part, Christina is hopeful that everything will work out for good and just kike the actress put it in an interview that it’s been a tough road. But, as we all know, the road keeps going, unless some asshole blocks it. In addition, The Dead to Me series as promised returned on Netflix for its third and final season on Thursday November 17, 2022. The series comes to an unpredictable end with of course laugh out loud moments. All I can say is that everyone need to watch the new 10 episodes and it picks right after Jen and Judy鈥檚 car was crashed into by Ben.
