The murders of two women with the same name, Mary Morris have always been a mysterious and unsolved case in the United States. These two women were killed four days apart and their remains were found close to the same locality bringing about several speculations. 48-year-old Mary Lou Henderson Morris was the first to be murdered before 39-year-old Mary McGinnis Morris.

Henderson was a renowned bank loan officer who was loved a lot by the people of Houston. McGinnis was a nurse whose reputation was also remarkable before she was murdered. On 12th October 2000, Henderson bid her husband goodbye as she left for work.

However, she never got to her work station nor did she return back home that evening. Her badly burned body was discovered by a passer-by in the smoldering remains of a car some three miles from her home. Four days later on 16th October 2000, McGinnis went missing after making a distress call to her friend.

She had earlier reported that her workmate had been threatening her. On the day of her murder, she reported to have seen a man at her drugstore which made her make the distress calls. Her body was found shot in the head and badly beaten nearly the exact place where Henderson鈥檚 had been found.

1. The Two Women Were Murdered Four Days Apart

On the morning of 12th October 2000, Mary Henderson bid her husband goodbye as she left home for her workplace where she worked as a bank loan officer. On the same day, her husband tried to reach her via calls but she never responded to any and she did not arrive at work. Her badly burned body was found in her car a few miles from their home.

Investigators could not determine the cause of her death due to the extent of the burns. Four days later on 16th October 2000, the body of Mary McGinnis Morris was discovered near the exact place where Mary Henderson鈥檚 had been found. These two murders were so mysterious and still remain unsolved.

2. None of the Two Women Were Robbed Of their Belongings

As investigations commenced on these two mysterious Mary Morris Murders, some discoveries were made. The crime scenes were well investigated and crucial details of the murders were revealed.

Investigators revealed that the motive of the killer was clear as none of the women were robbed of their belongings. All that they had were intact in their vehicles when they were found.

3. Mary Henderson鈥檚 Body was Badly Burned & Dumped in Her Vehicle

Later that evening, an ATV rider found the badly burned body of Mary Morris in the smoldering of her car. Her murder was so brutal that forensic scientists used her tooth to very her identity.

At her workplace, Mary McGinnis Morris had a new male nurse co-worker. However, he was not the kind of co-worker to associate with well and get along perfectly.

Mary had made complaints that she was afraid and terrified about her new male co-worker. This was one of the records that provided a clue about the murder but this never helped in the investigations.

5. McGinnis had Found A Death Note on Her Desk

Her fear of the new male nurse became more after she made a new discovery at her workplace. One time, Mary Morris went to her place of work and found her stuff rearranged.

What shocked her more is that she found a note that said 鈥淒eath to her鈥. This incident freaked her out and made her believe that the new co-worker who had been fired recently was behind all those creepy things.

6. Mary McGinnis Made Alarming Phone Call Before Being Found Dead

After making the reports of the terrific experience with her co-worker, Mary met with her friend Laurie at the clinic to give her an allergy shot. That same day, Mary stayed at the clinic for a few errands before going home to make dinner, as per Laurie. However, Mary made alarming calls to Laurie that same evening.

She had claimed that she had seen someone in the drugstore which gave her some creeps. After 12 minutes, she made a frantic 911 call and it is believed that this was when she was abducted. Her body was found later.

7. McGinnis was Beaten Badly Before Being Killed

At the crime scene, investigators made an important discovery about the muffler of Mary McGinnis Morris. Her assailant is claimed to have beaten her badly before she was murdered.

There were also signs of some resistance made by Mary. Before her murder, Mary had requested her husband to teach her about some defense skills which she might have used before being overpowered and murdered.

After overpowering Mary McGinnis Morris in the process of murdering her, the assailant shot her in the head. The assailant then tried to stage the scene and make investigators believe that McGinnis might have committed suicide.

However, suicide was ruled out as investigators discovered blood on the passenger side. The car keys of Mary McGinnis Morris were also found outside the car making the conclusion that she was murdered and it was not suicide.

9. It was believed that a Single Hitman Had Murdered the Women

The husband of Mary McGinnis Morris was interrogated about her murder because he was a suspect due to the marital issues they had. However, her husband had an alibi of being at the movies with their daughter on that fateful day making investigations stop.

The male co-worker was also interrogated as he was the other key suspect in the murder of Mary McGinnis. However, there was no evidence to incriminate him too.
