Following the discovery of the second barrel in 2000, the investigation went cold, and it wasn鈥檛 until 2017 that police made a significant breakthrough. The authorities reported that Denise Beaudin was connected to the murders. She went missing in 1981. Along with her small daughter and her ex-boyfriend Robert 鈥淏ob鈥� Evans, Beaudin vanished from Manchester, New Hampshire. Beaudin wasn鈥檛 reported missing until her daughter reappeared in California in 2016, following increased media attention to the murders and Beaudin鈥檚 disappearance.

It was later announced that Robert Evans was the father of one of the victims in the murders. Robert was an unidentified man and he was found through DNA to be the father of the unknown child in the murders. He was suspected to be the suspect in the Bear Brook Murders.

However, Evans passed away in custody in December 2010. His then-wife, Eunsoon Jun, a chemist, had been killed and dismembered in 2002; he had been found guilty and given a term as Evans for the crime.

10. Bob EvAns’ Identity was Revealed by DNA Technological Developments

 Numerous aliases, such as Curtis Kimball, Gordon Jensen, and Larry Vanner, were used throughout the life of suspected murderer Bob Evans. The DNA technology revealed that he was Terrence Peder Rasmussen.

He was born in Denver in 1945, and after being released from the Navy, he and his wife and four children lived there until getting divorced in the early 鈥�70s. Eventually, a DNA sample from one of his children from that union was given, allowing Rasmussen to be positively identified as the Bear Brook murderer.
