Francis Albert Sinatra was a renowned singer and artist who was born on the 12th of December 1915 and died on the 14th May 1998. He was known all over America for his iconic songs throughout the 20th century.

Frank attributed his success to his mother`s disciplining mechanisms while he was still young. He didn鈥檛 do quite well in school as he was expelled from high school after attending the school for just 47 days.

Sinatra was inspired as a teenager to choose popular singing as a vocation. He successfully joined a singing group known as the Hoboken Four. The group won a talent competition in 1935 on a popular radio program.

1.During his birth he was scarred by forceps

During frank`s birth on the 12th of December, the doctor had to use forceps to deliver him. The doctors were forced to since he was born blue and was not breathing. He was placed aside because the doctor assumed he had not made it.

He defied all odds as he was still alive even after the horrifying experience. This rough entry into the world left him with a scar on the side of his face that he had to live with throughout his life.

2.Franks mother pushed him to achieve his ambitions in life

Dolly Sinatra, Frank`s mother greatly influenced the success of his son. She took the initiative to discipline him into the right path in life.  She would even would dress frank in pink and often beat him to discipline him.

Frank often attributed his success to his mother鈥檚 way of disciplining. Frank once said that the reason he was able to do so much was because of his mother鈥檚 ambition. Dolly also used her connections to secure his son a spot in a band that was later known as 鈥楬oboken Four.鈥

Dolly also had her fair share with the criminal justice system. She had several criminal records. She even carried out illegal abortions for free which made her famous as 鈥淗atpin Dolly.鈥

3.He might have Starred In a Porn movie

Darwin Porter, the author of Sinatra鈥檚 biography, claims that the singer had starred in one of the porn movies called The Masked Bandit in 1934 when he went broke. Darwin had spent several decades researching Frank.

He further claims that Sinatra was paid $100 for the role in the movie and made sure his involvement in the scene remained a secret. He stared in the film while he was just 19 years old. He did the scene out of necessity as he was broke.

4.Frank married four times

Frank was married four times throughout his life. His first wife was Nancy Barbato Sinatra, with whom he had three children, Nancy, Francis and Christina. The second wife was his childhood lover, Ava Gardner.

Mia Farrow, an actress followed as the third wife to Frank. Finally he was married to Barbra Sinatra, who he was married to until his death in the year 1998. Despite the fact that Frank had multiple wives and children, his will was relatively simple.

5.Former President John F. Kennedy and Sinatra were best of friends

Former President John F. Kennedy and Sinatra were best of friends. Their relationship however had quite a few bumps in the road. The two were friends up to the moment Kenny decided to run for presidency.

There were several rumors on the cause however nothing was confirmed on the cause of the feud between the two. The Friendship finally ended when Sinatra smashed the helipad with a sledgehammer; he had built for the president to visit his home.

6. Frank made it a habit to carry rolls of dimes after his son`s abduction

On the 8th of December 1963, a group of amateur criminals hoped to get a pay day from Frank Sinatra. His son, Frank Sinatra Jr. kidnapper`s demanded only to call them using payphones. This was for the call not to be traced back to them.

His son was finally rescue from the kidnappers and returned home. From that moment onwards, Frank Sinatra made it a habit to carry rolls of dimes just in case such an incident occurred again. He carried this money everywhere he went until his death.

7.Frank Sinatra was thrown out of high school  after only 47 days

Sinatra attended David e Rue Jr High school form the year 1928 and later on Demarest High School in 1931. He however left high school without graduating as he was expelled for general rowdiness.

He was expelled after only attending the school for a total of 47 days. When he was expelled, his father was disappointed and furious, but nothing the Sinatras could do would stop Frank from pursuing his musical dreams.

 In efforts to please his mother he enrolled at Drake Business School, but left after 11 months. Dolly, his mother found his a job as a delivery boy at jersey Observer newspaper, where his godfather worked.

8.Frank Sinatra received several honors in his musical career

Frank`s popularity in the music industry has been matched with a few renowned singers of all time. His music has been matched with Bing Crosby, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson. Robert Christgau referred to him as the greatest singer of the 20th century.

Encyclopedia Britannica even referred to Frank as often hailed as the greatest American singer. His music was regarded as genius and a rare combination of voice and showmanship. These remarks were made because of his unique music in the 20th century.

Frank continues to be seen as an icon of the century and has three stars in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In his native land, Frank was awarded the Key of the City by Mayor Fred M. De Sapio. These are just a few of his honors in the industry as he has received so many honors for his music.

9.Frank was portrayed in several films and portrayals

Other than in his music career, Fran has been portrayed in several films and television shows. A television miniseries titled Sinatra was based on the life of Frank. The series was produced by Frank`s youngest daughter, Tina Sinatra and approved by himself.

The show won awards and has been nominated for seven Emmy Awards. Franks has also been portrayed in The Rat Pack and Stealing Sinatra. Back in the year 1998, the documentary series, Arena also portrayed Frank.

Even after his death, a musical tribute was aired on CBS television in December 2015 to mark Sinatra`s centenary.

10.Frank Sinatra died of a heart attack at the age of 82

On the 14th of May 1998, the renowned singer, actor and show-business icon died of a heart attack in Los Angeles at the age of 82. Before his Frank`s was renowned for his singing and acting all over the United States of America.

Frank received honors for his musical career throughout the 20th century. He was referred to an icon of the century for his music. He has also been portrayed in several films to celebrate the life he lived.
