Miami and Miami Beach are two different cities. Miami is in southern Florida whereas Miami beach is a coastal resort city with so many hotels in Miami Dade County, Florida, United States.

The Beach is indeed an island, which is about a mile wide and nine miles long, connected by bridges to mainland Miami. It is on a natural and man-made barrier island between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, about 3 miles offshore from the main city of Miami. The bay is what separates the two.

This city on an island has 3 neighborhoods. South Beach, Mid-Beach, and North Beach. The place oozes luxury, and there are many fun things to do.

1. Climate is Favorable

Biscayne National park gives you one of the best Marine experiences you will ever have. An 鈥淥ceanic Garden of Eden鈥� is filled with crystal clear water, mesmerizing islands, and beautiful coral reefs.

On the other hand, at Everglades, you can experience a good view of the wildlife as well including alligators, birds, and turtles.

The Miami Beach Architectural District is in South Beach and is one of the must-see attractions. This historic district holds the largest collection of Art Deco buildings in the world. The designs are often described as evoking technological modernity, resilience, and optimism.

Ocean Drive street is the center of the Miami Art Deco District. It has art, architecture, movie theatres, parks, and public places.

5. South Pointe Park and Pier

South Pointe Park and Pier commonly referred to as South Pointe is a beautiful, picturesque park in Miami Beach that covers a massive 17 acres in area. It is maintained by the Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation Department.

From the park one can see the Miami Port, the Atlantic Ocean, and Biscayne Bay. Most people visit this place in Miami Beach just to see the calm and pleasant sunset.

This park has many restaurants and an area full of water parks that are specially created for kids.

6. Lincoln Road

Lincoln Road in South Beach is a classic pedestrian thoroughfare that runs the length of the island from east to west. This thoroughfare was added to the National Register of Historic Places as Lincoln Road Mall in 2011.

It has local merchants, national retail stores, a Cinema, fine restaurants and bars, a parking garage, boutiques, and concert halls. It hosts a weekly market where farmers bring fresh produce back from their farms.

Lincoln Road is also home to the newly restored Colony Theatre, a performing arts venue, and Art-Center with a collection of studios and gallery spaces for artists.

Street performers entertain a constant stream of tourists and locals on Lincoln Road. It is among the most popular destinations for visitors to the South Beach area.

7. Miami Beach Botanical Gardens

The garden, a unique subtropical oasis of beauty and tranquility, is 2.6 acres of urban green space in Miami Beach.

It showcases native Florida plants and trees including bromeliads, palms, cycad, orchids, and many others. There is a Japanese garden, native garden and bio-swale, and water gardens including ponds, fountains, and a wetland with mangrove and pond apple trees.

It also has a Great Lawn area for corporate and social events, a plant nursery, and an event plaza.

8. Holocaust Memorial

The memorial was designed by Kenneth Treister on a site designated by the City of Miami Beach Commission. It serves as a permanent reminder of the six million Jews that perished at the hands of the Nazi regime from 1933 to 1945.

The Holocaust Memorial includes a 40-foot (12-meter) bronze sculpture of a hand tattooed with an Auschwitz number surrounded by bronze figures of victims and the Memorial Wall reaching out of the ground and panels listing the names of victims. 

9. Miami Beach Boardwalk

The boardwalk is a beautiful and scenic pathway that stretches from the southern point of South Beach northward for approximately 40 blocks.

It has beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean on one side and views of lavish South Beach hotels and condos on the other. There are plenty of places to stop and rest or to get a drink and a bite to eat.

10. The Bass

Set inside a landmark Art Deco building from the 1930s on the National Register of Historic Places, The Bass is a Mid-Beach institution dedicated to modern art.

It has an impressive public art display on its adjacent Collins Park, which includes Ugo Rondinone鈥檚 Miami Mountain, a totem of massive neon-painted limestone boulders.
