Her father, Fraiser Robinson was a worker at the city’s purification plant and she was a homemaker. She went to Princeton University where she studied sociology and African American studies before proceeding to do her bachelor in law at Harvard University.

She is particularly well-known in the US for promoting healthy eating habits. When the first lady promotes fitness and a healthy diet, she lives what she preaches. Her pals claim that she works out “like a gladiator,” rising as early as 4:30 a.m. to engage in kickboxing, weightlifting, treadmill running, and other exercises.

However, despite her healthy eating habits she still has cheat days where she enjoys French fries which are her favourite. Her husband, Barrack Obama revealed that whenever they go on road trips, they have French fries and a cheeseburger on the way.

2 She met her husband while working in a law firm

In 1988, Michelle was Barack’s consultant and he was an intern at her law firm. She declined his invitation to go out with him since she thought it was improper for them to be dating. She suggested that her brother, Craig Robinson, play a basketball game with him first after having repeatedly asked her out.

The purpose of the match was not to judge Barack Obama’s basketball talents, but rather because she had grown up hearing her father say that you can learn a lot about a guy on the court, she demanded that he play. In 1990, they started dating; they finally got married in 1992.

4 Her counsellor told her that she was not 鈥淧rinceton material鈥

A teenage Michelle Obama was told by her guidance counsellor that they weren’t convinced she was “Princeton material,” even though she was planning to complete high school in the top 10% of her class. While most teenagers would have been devastated, she was once more unflappable and changed her strategy, asking her assistant principal for a letter of recommendation instead. She remembers saying, “I wasn’t going to allow one person’s perspective dislodge what I knew about myself.” She was accepted as a result of one stellar admissions essay.
