Meryl Streep was born on 22 June 1949. Streep is an American actress. Often described as the best actress of her generation. Streep is particularly known for her versatility and accent adaptability. She has received numerous accolades throughout her career spanning over six decades. In 2003, the French government made her a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters.

In November 2014, President Barack Obama bestowed upon Streep the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honour. Malala Yousafzai was born on 12 July 1997. She is the world’s youngest Nobel Prize laureate and a Pakistani female education activist. Yousafzai is a human rights advocate for the education of women and children in her native homeland, Swat, where the Pakistani Taliban had at times banned girls from attending school.

Jhumpa Lahiri was born on 11 July 1967. Lahiri is a Bengali-American author known for her short stories, novels, and essays in English and, more recently, in Italian. In these works, Lahiri explored the Indian-immigrant experience in America. 

In 2011, Lahiri moved to Rome, Italy and has since then published two books of essays, and in 2018, published her first novel in Italian called Dove mi trovo and also compiled, edited and translated the Penguin Book of Italian Short Stories which consists of 40 Italian short stories written by 40 different Italian writers.
