Their complex and even heroic plots demonstrate the courage and self-sacrifice of rats. Several books and movies have featured rats as central characters. These rats have been shaped to be friendly pet rats, evil lab rats, rat sensei, and even a mystical rat king in animation films and children’s books.

Even though in real life rats are seen as rodents and even as creepy pests.
